Important Announcement:
Sony Japan is proud to announce, Paint Drying: Summer Oozing. The company unveiled today the highly anticipated sequel to the groundbreaking sit and stare genre it's created. In the game, choose from thousands of colors to splash across the walls of more than 30 different houses, each made with different materials, and watch how paint drips and dries for an hour, a day, a week.... the possibilities are endless thanks to the amazing Oozooz simulation engine and the processing power of Cell.

GTFO!

You got that right. Last thing Sony Japan should be doing is wasting effort on non games for the Japanese market. This would fit perfectly on those other turdy systems, but on PS3?! GTFO non game lovers!

I immediately thought this on reading about this but quoting from OP:

Shikitei is being developed by Premium Agency, a firm that specializes in movie contents. Serving as producer is Rie Nakamura, who stressed in this week's issue of Famitsu that the title will have no gaming elements to it. According to Nakamura, the staff at one point considered adding game-like features such as making weeds appear if players don't take care of their garden every now and then, but these features didn't make the cut.

Games publishers being experimental and branching out is something to be encouraged imo, there is not much room for experimentation these days wot with game development costs etc.

If theres any justice in the world you should totally be able to export your garden from Shiki-tei and have it linked to your Home appartment :p

This feature alone would totally sell me the game.

need post for the animal pic, I think it looks really interesting

Boring, it's like Viva without the game part, and Viva got old after awhile, what chance does this have?

It's a downlaodable title under $10 bucks, whereas Viva was $60? Not that they both offer the same exact amount of content, but come on now.

AWESOME. Some of the textures are kinda weak, but the premise is so compelling and the animals are fairly cute. Great job, Sony! At under 10 bucks, this will be an awesome impulse buy for anyone wanting to chill out.
