In-game font looks quite a bit better than Devil Survivors. Not perfect, but much improved.

In any case, I'm pretty excited. Day 1.

You know, Atlus, people don't suddenly stop recognizing a series' name if the font changes. I'm sure SMT fans will be just as interested in an SMT game if you stop using that same horrible typeface you insist on using every time.

Damn, I wish ATLUS would rely on GAF for it's boxart, BlazBlue in EU is going to be fantastic. I'm going to say right now that that won't be the final boxart,

That box art is awesome. Of all the incarnations of "Angry Guy with Gun" to have appeared on video game boxes over the years it is hands-down the best.

Oh, the email actually lists the release date at the bottom. Very, very nice; right around five months difference between the US and JP versions.

Disliking the logo... and where is the SMT star?

If it's like Persona 4 and PSP then it's only on the spine. Or if it's like Devil Survivor it's not there at all.

That font never bothered me too much, but when it gets blown up larger like it is for the Tensei, it really doesn't look too great. If they had just made a new logo for the English release instead of using the Japanese one and switching out the text, I think the boxart would have benefited a lot (giant Spaceman in the back must stay, of course).

Then again, looking at the improved in-game font, I must say I have no problems with their font-related priority list.

At any rate, boxart grumblings are irrelevant since the game will be awesome and I'm buying it on day 1.

After reading duckroll's impressions and feelings on the import, I think I'll be inclined to get this upon release day. Last few SMT releases have past without me picking them up, I hope to rectify this.

I wonder if that Logo just might not be allowed on the box by Nintendo. It could be misconstrued......

IIRC, it's on the box art for SMT:DS and I know for sure it's on the boxes for the GBA DemiKids games.

I love you Atlus USA but you really need to retire that bad fantasy typeface and come up with something better for the SMT series. It may have worked ok for the Gold Box games in the early 1990s, but not so much here.

good to see the in-game font isn't as eye-damaging as the one in DevSur.

looks amazing, will buy, day 1 etc..

Was hoping for a much sooner release date, oh well. Excellent news.

So counting this game... I have one game to look forward to next year.

The font for "Shin Megami Tensei" needs to be reworked, but it's a nice boxart otherwise.

I'm glad it's not coming out until March. My Atlus backlog is already massive enough. :\ Day one, of course.

spring is actually earlier than I expected. day one for me. now confirm and give us release date for p3p!

Made a mockup of how I thought it should've looked:

Too bad I don't have the source material nor the time to change word placement.

Personally I love the box art, and am indifferent towards the logo. It's classic American style "put main character on the front starting at wheoever's looking at the box", but done right because the character is masked. Yes, I do feel the same way about Halo 3, Fallout 3, and Killzone 2.

I don't think that's what people are complaining about. It's the "SMT" text that looks awkwardly out of theme with the rest of the logo. They made the red parts too soft/pinkish and added some stupid glowing outline.

They should rename it Shin Megami Tensei 4 at least in the West.

If they wanted it to sell in the US they re-title it Persona 5:In Spaace! :lol

Also screw the haters, awesome cover art is awesome.

It's that Shin Megami Tensei aren't all on the same line of text like Nocturne or Persona 3 and 4. It looks like
Shin Megami
TENSEI

Also the red needs to be more like the eyes

I like that Atlus made the "Shin Megami Tensei" part of the title extra big in order to differentiate it from all the other games they've slapped the SMT title on over the years.
