Shining Resonance announced for PS3 (RPG/Media.Vision)

Please localize this shit, now.

Uuurgh, why they can't hire Yuusuke Kozaki instead? He might be done some shit works in FEA (Female Paladin wear panty only lol). But at least he make the poster girl aka Lucina properly dressed, if not one of the best designed female RPG character for me.

sigh :(

Even if it WAS like old Shining Force, it wouldn't be localized anyway...oh well...

Post-high school aged red haired dude with an axe; love it! All the characters look a little more mature which is great. Liking what i see so far.

Valkyria 3's story and maps were pretty good and much more true to the original in my opinion although it did have a waifu thing if that sort of thing turns you off (team Imca). The fan translation's supposed to be pretty good, why not give it a shot.

Huh...? 90% or someting of Valkyria Chronicles 3's maps were from Valkyria Chronicles 2. Fuck that game. I already got tired of those maps in 2 proper.

Amazing art with incredible charm and character would be the alternative to generic anime garbage tony taka, yes.

i don't have a dog in this fight either way, but lmao at the idea what you posted above is "amazing art". If you printed that out and put it on the cover of a book, I wouldn't doubt it's from a shitty 5 cent fantasy novel for a second. More importantly, it's not very representative of how the game looks and is a product from a time when Sega thought Americans couldn't handle animus on their game cover.

The best kind of fantasy novels ;)

Camelot's said they're interested in returning to the franchise. At this point I think it's Sega that can't be bothered.

I remember hearing that Sega asked Camelot to contribute with their Shining Revival in the Mid 00's and Camelot refused.

The release date and price have been announced. It'll be coming out on December 11, 2014 in Japan. The price for both normal and download edition is 8,222yen (excluding tax). There's also a special limited edition that includes a figure of Kirika and her swimsuit DLC, and it costs a whopping 16,800yen (excluding tax). The figure is 1/7 scale, sculpted by 2% and manufactured by Alphamax.

*whistles* They really do take advantage of otaku in Japan. >_<

And, for once a J-RPG that actually doesn't look half bad. It's still not quite the style of art that I like for my anime games, but I'll take it. Here's hoping this attempt works better than Tales of Xillia. (The little girl and the "osananajimi" character killed it.)

...Y'know, once I get done learning Japanese since obviously Sega/Atlus don't care to localize this. *cries*

All that i see is
-faceless generic dude
-generic dude
-Adol Christin

If those are the alternatives to Tony Taka...

you just judged a 16/32 bit game's art style on a box art's painted illustration...

do you see how "generic dude" doesn't really correlate to a pixel art / low poly graphics

plus your idea of "generic dude" wasn't quite generic back in 1992....

I really like the design of the dragons on the main site. I also like the way they have the characters represented by each weapon on there too.

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that this won't be localized.

Seriously, Sega being Sega and all, what chances if any do you guys think we have of getting this game in the West?

Being a Shining game, I would say about -15% chance. But I would say that for the PSP Shining games. Since this is a PS3 game with presumably higher budget than the slew of PSP ones before it, and on account of the PS3 not being completely dead like the PSP in the west, I would say the chances are a bit better, so maybe -5% chance.

It's not happening, don't get your hopes up.
