SHOCKING NEWS: The Last Guardian could be a PS4 game

Can anyone TL;DR any known reasons this game is taking ages to finish? thanks.

Game announced for PS3, development woes occur (possibly because of power limits on PS3), game goes on hiatus, work starts again this time for PS4 probably 1-2 years ago, will likely be reintroduced at E3. Really not that unbelievable so I'm not sure why people are so adamant its dead even when we've been assured repeatedly it isn't.

I always thought this would eventually happen, just imagining what PS3 and now PS4 could pull off in terms of scale and beauty in a Colossus game is salivating.

They're saving SotC for when morpheus is released. Nothing like actually looking up at a 20 story tall monster and trying to scale it.

...Right?

I might actually die of laughter if this game actually exists, and it comes out for PS3

thought it being PS4 was obvious at this point

It's still in active development.

Trust me.

I mean at this point the its dead became a meme

You think fucking sony would say thats in develipement straight to you face but its actually dead? Them saying its in developement and not showing anything is actually good since we know they want the best possible product.

And oh if its being re announced its gonna be e3. They want all eyes on it

Adam Boyes suggested on bonus round that Sony is not announcing stuff until its very close to release. So if true thats probably why they are so mum on TLG. Expect it to have a big re-reveal a year before launch. The whole game is probably getting reworked which is whats taking time. It will probably be different from the footage we saw a few years ago as that was the "rough draft" version.

I can't tell if a joke is flying right over my head or if you're actually serious about this.

Either way, I'm getting my hopes up... again.

Ico and SOTC are just so amazing... so damn amazing.

I just can't take seriously the notion that development has ceased, it doesn't make any sense to me, and I'm sure it hasn't.

So expect a reveal at some point. Next E3? Gamescom? TGS?

They should just start with TLG II, since everyone knows they won't be able to live up to the hype.
Wait. Wait. Wait. Just wait a minute.

This is actually an amazing idea. Sequels to well received first entries are usually disappointing. DMC2 was crap. Iron Man 2 was crap. Final Fantasy X-2 was crap. It's all relative. So if TLG was skipped, and TLG2 came first, and it was disappointing, you'd skip the expectations for the first game and immediately temper them for a disappointing second entry. It's the rule. People would be expecting to be let down, but at the same time, they'd believe it's not the real thing. This way expectations are reduced, but they're not completely killed for the original.

So when the first entry is then announced again for release, after the second has already released, people would be excited, but their hype would be much less because they've already had a taste of the disappointing sequel and their expectations are more realistic in respect to that taste. In which case, the first entry could finally release, merely be a good game, but ultimately live up to all expectations.

It's genius.

I have personally spoken to Shu who admits confidentially it was cancelled along with Eight Days Two: Nine Days and Until Dusk.

It's come out like 4 years into the PS4's life-cycle, but on PS3.

In all seriousness though, it sounds like Team Ico never even got the game design down, it was a setting and a couple of characters. And with them restarting the game, it could be very different if it resurfaces.

Wow, lets hope it doesn't fall victim to the what I call the 'Hype Game'.

Still have a fucking pre order down, my god.

Betting they couldn't render the animal on PS3 and just waited. Shame, since SotC is my favorite game of all time

After finishing The Last Guardian in 2017 on your PS4 Slims you'll be like "Ok... So that was that. *scratch*" All these TLG memes are probably more entertaining than the actual game could ever hope to be.

I read this with Sergeant Lincoln Osiris doing the voice acting.
