Found it at EB Games for $2 Used -- but it's brand spankin' new. Could be a reprint...?

I figured it had to be, every other PSX game was...nothing, just an empty white cd jewel case with a yellow sticker telling its name.

Then you got Thunderforce, which was just sitting there in pristine condition, the jewel case is flawless, the gleam of the shiny shiny that WD used is still there, the CD is brand new...

Plus it was only $2, and I didnt feel like coming home from my errands empty handed, so I picked it up.

There were these 2 40 year old fat geeks playing Kameo and making criticism comments on it.

Boy, glad I'm nothing like them. Nerds.

$2?

2 motherhuffing $ !?

Anything is worth $2. Jeeeeesus. I couldn't even buy a slap in the face for $2, let alone a genuine actual video game. Who cares what it's like. It's a shiny disc in a special plastic case with pictures... that's worth $2 in itself.

Some people.

Honestly.

Tsk.

This game sucks and might infect your other games with suck. You're better off protecting your copy of Advent Rising from harm and shipping it to a Thunder Force V Safety Shelter. I'll PM you an address for one in the greater Boston area.

...So have you ever rummaged through a Gamestop's PS1 bin? There are usually plenty of things in there I wouldn't pay a red cent for.

Ain't that the 'water f-zero' arcade game?
WTF? The first Thunder Force game came out before F-Zero came into existence.

I prefer the Sega Saturn version a bit better; the sprites are sharper in that version.

This reminds me how good the Thunder Force II soundtrack was and how I taped it to cassette from my Genesis instead of having a social life.

*CRY*

If I recall correctly the difficulty as compared to the Japanese version was crippling.
Not really - the only change that WD made was to the scoring/extend structure, so you didn't get as many free ships through the course of the game. The difficulty of the bosses and such is still the same.
