Should Dino Crisis come back as a Horror or Action title?

As a first person VR horror game. Same engine as Resident Evil 7. Take it back to its "Roots™" or if you prefer its "Origins™"

I'd like revelations style action horror myself. Biggest problem with dinos in a pure action title is they are all melee enemies.

Focusing on horror with some action would be better I think.

Jurassic Park: Isolation is a dream of mine, I want it more than I want upcoming sequels to some of my favorite games of all-time; especially with the promise of VR. I feel you could accomplish something similar with an IP like Dino Crisis.

Take the RE Engine, take the same mission statement as RE7 is seemingly taking the franchise and throw that in VR. Take my money any day now, Capcom.

In the same vein as REmake would be perfect for me. I want dark and gritty.

No action crap please.. I don't want Regina back flipping around and roundhousing Dinosaurs.

Dino Crisis 2 was the best to play and was where it felt like the franchise was beginning to settle into its own identity, so action.
I think Dino Crisis in the mold of Resi 4 or Revelations would be killer. Kind of that middle ground between horror and action.
Something like this while mainline RE returns to horror as with RE7 would also be acceptable.

It wouldn't matter to me if it was like DC1, DC2, REmake, RE3, RE4, RE6, RE7, Alien: Isolation, or something different entirely. I just want a new Dino Crisis. As long as it's not a mobile game and doesn't have some B-tier low budget Revelations style lack of polish or garbage gameplay in general.

Both.

Dinosaurs that overpower you when you do meet one plus RE6's maneuverability would be a wet dream.

As long as it's focused more on tranqing and avoiding dinosaurs versus needing to clear the room everytime, I'd welcome our Dino overlords, while doing backflips and shit.

While I like the survival horror aspect of dinos, it'd be wasted on a DC revival. The second game was much much better than the first.

Surprised by the posts. Expected more to lean towards action. But a lot of people seem to want horror.

I kinda ignored the middle ground posts. Since I feel that is still action at the end of the day. RE4 to me is an action game with a horror topping. I should have fathered called the thread Dino Crisis reboot Survival horror or action.

Remake DC1 in the vein of Resident Evil Remake.

Remake DC2 in the vein of RE4.

I have no idea what i'd want from a DC3, i just know i want one more than that T-Rex wants to eat people.

RE4 wishes it was as cool as DC2.

And I think it'd be best to just pretend DC3 never happened. No-one bought or liked it, so it wouldn't even be hard.

Dino Crisis 3 already happened.

I think more action is a lot better. I don't see the point of horror in a dino based game, like what are they going to scare you with? More in the vein of Dino Crisis 2, maybe less arcadey and more based on survival mechanics like crafting on the fly and surviving harsh climates. Also RE7 has the horror covered, no need to release another horror game that was already in RE's shadow.

They can probably just expand on the RE6 system to be honest. Dino Crisis is an open canvas at this point, they can even make it a Tomb Raider type game although I don't want that. I think Capcom should make it about the game play as much as they can.

I had a crazy fan fiction about Dino Crisis 4 (or whatever it may be called) where it starts off with Regina going back in time with a special squad to rescue Dylan who they believe to be still alive. When they come back a lot of time has passed for Dylan and other corporations especially military ones have invaded the area too with more advance tech. So you are fighting off not just dinos but dudes from the future with advance tech that you can use also. Also some experimental dinos so that we have faster, smarter threats to deal with.

Both, or horror/survival ala Isolation in an action game. I mean, you could blast away smaller dinos and then be trapped with no weapons in a room with raptors having to sneak away. From there get weapons and shoot dinos .

Not played any of the series nor the Resident Evil series, so feel free to disregard my thoughts. But personally speaking I would lean towards survival horror and make it that resources is harder to come by which makes the dinosaurs so threatening and scary.

Action because dinosaurs are not scary.

They can be if done right.

But should the dinosaurs have scales or feathers?

Feathers, people just need to accept that some dinosaur had feathers back then but that doesn't make them any less scary as we have feathered birds that can be just as scary like the Cassowary.

It would be great to bring back this series to appease the fans of the way Resident Evil was heading before 7 reeled it back in.
