Should I bring a laptop to a job interview?

Nothing says "I want this job" more than an applicant furiously fapping to porn.

Seriously though; don't. Bring a notepad to make notes, leave the laptop at home. Or, if you have a portfolio on there, bring it, but only take it out to show your portfolio and store it away as soon as you're done. Be sure you've closed all your porn before going to the interview. This is essential.

Don't listen to the others.

In todays job world you definitely need a laptop for the job interview.

If you dont bring it with yout, you will never make it to round 2.

i did and got the job....

it was an it interview though and i had to demonstrate a script to provision cloud resources.

a notebook is more standard. i dont personally see the diff between onenote on a small laptop and a notebook but i think people are more conditioned to expect notebooks

Well, yeah, you would need an interview if you need to present or demonstrate something then you would need a laptop.

If you hadn't, you wouldn't have got the job. But it's interview specific. And something you should inquire about beforehand among basic details like where, when etc.

Yes. Show your future boss how far video games have come since Super Mario Bros.

"...and I think you'll agree that widespread use of physics engine middleware has allowed for spectacular and lifelike motion, the likes of which used to be reserved for high-end film effects!"

Please don't kill me.

Kinda depends on what the job is? I'm a frontend webdeveloper so I always bring my laptop to showcase some of my work.

If it's after March bring a Switch. If you can best your interviewer in Bomberman they have to give you the job, it's employment law.

I didn't bring one to my last interview for a software developing position, though they did have a Macbook set up for me to walk them through the coding exercise I'd sent in previously.
