Should They Relaunch (Campaign) Cyberpunk 2077? and How?

This game came and went like a fart in the wind.
That brief initial stench made people gag and now everyone has forgotten about it.

Game is dead. No DLC or updates can fix it.

I fucking love posts like these.

"Played for 200h, did 100%. Game was trash". What a way to make your point.

I dont know what they will do, but I'm really curious about what price they will decide fir when the game goes back to PSN

$60 would be hilarious, and probably what we are gonna get
Yeah maybe these people spent $60 and didn't want their money to go to waste ??
I did the same thing. I sunk over 60 hours into the game and I still think the game is trash as I went through countless bugs and crashes on PS4 Pro but I paid $60 on day one thanks to the developers withholding console release footage until the 11th hour.

Got my refund from Sony and I'm happy. Would I buy this game again? Fuck NO.

With the cost of development they have to try something. Focusing on the new gen version when its properly done would make sense for a marketing campaign. But I'm not sure how much they can salvage because the install base isn't likely to grow much any time soon based on reports of chip shortages.

How would you relaunch this disaster of a game?

Its been mentioned before in this thread. But No Man's Sky is the gold standard for a botched launch and rebuilding it's game. It's not a GaaS…. But Hello Games has still supported it. Never charging 50 cents. They could've easily taken the money and ran. Threw a few weak patches out and called it a day. But they shut the hell up. No tweets. No updates and worked. Simply worked. Over half a decade later and it's factually not the same game anymore. It's FAR more then they ever even promised or promoted by Sean Murray.

If Joe Danger games can fix that game, I'm more than confident CDPR can deliver the goods. That said, it's a fantastic game on PC still. Did it "live up to the hype". No. But that wasn't even possible given it's hype.
Said it before many times that CDPR are setting themselves up for failure again with the fucking roadmap to fixing this fucking game. Should have just given an update that they're hard at work fixing the game and we can expect updates in future. This timeline they gave puts more pressure on them to deliver on time. They're already under mountains of pressure to get this game fixed.

They can and should have taken their cues from Hello Games. Just get to work and don't promise anyone anything.

I mean, if they release it for ps5 with the patches that make it run well, I will buy it.
Decent performance is the least of this game's problems.

So you want your money AND your time to go to waste? Gotcha

If I'm not having fun, I sure as hell aint gonna play the game for 100h just to try justify my purchase

I have bought $60 games in the past that I barely played because I didnt enjoy it.

Playing 60 hours just to justify my purchase sounds like masochism to me, but you know whats best for you.

PS: You could have asked for the refund before playing for 60h, since you actually had this option this time. Just saying.

I don't want to create another cyberpunk thread, but man I just installed a RTX3090, connected it to my ultrawide 3440x1080 monitor, and this game sucks.

I disabled all the usual settings to make it clearer, but it still seems blurry as hell. Almost like it's upscaled from 720. The game doesn't natively support ultrawide and just stretches the left/right areas as well.

Am I the only one not enjoying this? I heard it's a must play for it's graphics alone if you have an RTX card.

Only other game I've been playing is OW and Wreckfest, and both are CLEAR as day, even if OW is playing in 16:9. If I look closely I can tell every pixel is being used.

sigh

Dlssnis maybe on performance? Balanced?

Put it on quality.

Like I said, I paid full price for this and I made use of the time I had with the game. If I pay for something and don't find the product to be all it is said to be then I'll use it until its broke. That's just me. I don't want my money going to waste. We are all different. The refund policy gave me this opportunity. I essentially played this game for free. Who's going to just sit there and let 'free' walk on by. Most people would do the same thing. Use the product until they get their refund.

Also you can have fun but still criticize something. Having fun doesn't mean something is exempt from criticism. I had fun playing it but its littered with issues.

Also I did ask for my refund as soon as it was available to request it. It took Sony weeks to refund me even having followed up multiple times. By the time my refund came around I had already sunk 60 hours into the game.
The game has its issues but its not anywhere near the experience they said we would get.

It's not a failure. While very far from perfect, and in many ways fundamentally broken, it is also a lot of fun on many levels and sold an assload of copies.
Got nothing to do with the quality of the game Jenny.

How many of those were pre-order sales from unsuspecting gamers on consoles who bought into the hype ?

How many requested for refunds?

Sales of this game has got sweet fuck all to do with the quality of the game and whether its actually a genuinely good experience.

It's baffling how many times this is brought up in discussions on the game experience when it comes to Cyberpunk.

'Yeah Bo, its a good fucking game. It sold xxx copies' - GTFO with that shit.

I don't think they're going to spend the resources to do a proper relaunch. I feel like too many bridges have been burned at this point. Not to mention the lawsuits that they are mired in. They've made their money from this game already. I think they're just going to ride this out and quietly move on to their next project.

The current situation ain't pretty...

...but anything is possible. No Mans Sky is proof of that.

A relaunch isn't necessary. But i think any future DLC content should be free. They fucked up, so own it and earn players trust back like Hello Games did.

How would you relaunch this disaster of a game?

It desperately needs a RELAUNCH. One of the few times I actually agree with doing something this drastic.

However, I wouldn't relaunch it until all these things are ready to go: Next Generation Patch for PS5/Xbox Series X, The game is updated to patch 1.2 at the bare minimum and
a *couple* substantial DLCs are INCLUDED.

No Man's Sky had potential to make huge changes which it did, basically updating it from NMS 1 to NMS 3 or even 4. The best you'd get from this game is bug fixes, the game will still be the game and most are over it now.

While this kind of behavior makes you question it, personally I understand it. I think the people who get their refund and still "crying" about the state of the game are doing this because of their disappointment. It seems they wanted the game to succeed and be among the great ones, so even if they had fun with it or if they got their money back, they may still feel bothered by it not meeting up to their expectations. Because they just wanted it to be better. In some ways its similar to cheer for a Football team in the off-season because they bought great players, and even though you didnt actually pay for them you are hyped to see them win the league, yet after few months they get destroyed and you are very angry about the whole situation.
I, personally will not take my complaints and whining to such degree if i got my refunds, it will still bother me slightly but thats just me, however other people like the user you responded to may still have that bitter taste in their mouth.
Thats my interpretation on this.

I don't.. seems like a scam. You play 60 hours , probably finished the story and then , cry wolf .

If it's garbage I play 2 hours tops..

This is just a scheme to get your money back .

No, let it die. That game and it's aggressive marketing really shaken the bliss bubble we were all living in. They made a game about a game and that game was, how much can we get away with it, let us see how stupid gamers are.

Game over.

They did it with the first Witcher game, which apparently turned out well for them. I could see it, but I wonder if they are able to afford it.

Yup I believe they can redeem themselves by relaunching this game. But it needs a lot of work, hope we can see a definitive edition in 2022 or even 23. They should take their time.

Because even the haters can see how much potential it has.

Edit: and they should forget about the old gen versions and focus on next gen. Take the loss there.

I'm pretty sure they will try to pull off the Enhanced Edition with major fixes and tweaks like they did with The Witcher 1 and 2. It may take some time before we hear about it, but it would make sense to bring a vastly improved edition alongside a proper release to a next generation

I wouldn't relaunch it, but they should totally stop working on the multiplayer in order to focus on something else.
