Since Yooka uses the tail as a whip, how about adding a tiny Indiana Jones hat also?

Bloke is definitely male.From: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playtonic/yooka-laylee-a-3d-platformer-rare-vival
IDK if "bloke" is ever used to refer to a female instead of a male
Goodness gracious some of y'all are turning this into Sonic Boom, he doesn't need clothes!
Chameleons changing color to fit their surroundings is a common myth. It's actually based on how they feel. You guys are missing an important fact. If you want any chameleon skin-colour-changing game mechanics, Yooka can't wear clothes. It'd ruin his camouflage.
you sure showed him, he'll think twice before making a joke in neogaf thread again
I don't have weird chameleon sex fantasies, only normal chameleon sex fantasies. I'm not some kind of perv.
I wonder if the devs would consider turning Yooka into an octopus. To give him more personality.Chameleons changing color to fit their surroundings is a common myth. It's actually based on how they feel.
Not that this will stop the devs from giving Yooka awesome invisibility powers.
Laylee could hide in Yooka's mouth while in stealth mode. He's got a purple bat with a huge nose on his head tho
...Unless they can split up like in Tooie
If there's any sort of chameleon color changing mechanic in the game clothes won't make sense.
His design is fine.
I do agree Yooka needs some sort of clothing or accessory to give him more of a specific look, something to recognize him by instead of him just being a generic chameleon. I don't think it should be pants though, just something unique we haven't seen on a mascot character before.
Who's that lizard in the three piece suit?I wonder if the devs would consider turning Yooka into an octopus. To give him more personality.
We have like 20 pages of discussion on this in the Yooka-Laylee thread, lol.
He's fine the way he is. Maybe the game will have optional clothing though; maybe you can unlock some clothing options. Would make the people against nudity happy, yes? Someone made an image of him with a Hawaii shirt, and it looked pretty nice.
EDIT: This one
You're right, this shouldn't be too hard at all lol.

Got rid of that Tail.
It's best that we don't ruin great character design with horrible ideas.
No.
Stop bringing grownup mentality into this.
It's a cartoon animal, it doesn't have to wear clothes of any kind, if the people behind making the game designed it that way.
Also obligatory

How is Yooka going to show his response to various stimuli if he's wearing clothes? That's what I thought. Also, allow me to yell this from the highest mountain top...chameleons don't change their color for camouflage! They do so in response to various stimuli and is done as a signal to other chameleons. Thank you.

But they're totally going to have Yooka do that anyway lol

HE'S NAKED!!!
He's a chameleon.
He can change his skin to whatever he wants, and you want to cover him up with pants!?
Hmm...

Ayy
Yeah, that would actually be really cool haha. Maybe in the sequel. What I'd love to see is a squid platformer, where you do all kinds of camo to hide. Kinda similar to the octocamo from MGS4, but not faked.
Then people would be even more confused about Yooka's gender lolA sports bra and a sweatband.
No.
He can change colour, have patterns on his body if he uses camouflage and look as zany as possible when he transforms but other than that he's fine.

A Burka would be a great idea, to differentiate him from the other games characters. He lives in a free and liberal land, so he can wear whatever he wants. Even a Burka.
He wears contacts
