• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

Show off your PORTABLE game collections~

I'll just post stuff for formats that are "under represented" so far. My GBA, DS, PSP stuff really isn't all that special. Lynx (chess game, other soccer title) and Game Boy are missing a few titles since my place is messy and needs cleaning.

For NGPC I'm trying to get all the color games released in US/UK. I got a bunch of cart only games extremely cheap (like $1 apiece and sold any duplicates) recently from some drop shipping web store and figured, what the hell. Region and box/manual don't matter since that'd get pricey and having to buy all the stupid casino games was annoying enough. Searching for the remaining games has kind of been put on hold since I haven't played a good portion of the games yet.

*edit* A lot of the Game Boy games are gnarly looking because they came from GameStop and I bought a bunchhh when they were 85% off recently.

WHOA at the OP's DS collection, and to think it is still lacking some key games like the 3rd Castlevania, Dragon Quest 4 and Ace Attorney 4....O_O

New DS games bought since last week! (also posted in updated OP!)

All were new/sealed except for the Gyakuten Saiban Encyclopedia~ (thanks Mutsu! ^_^)

Impressive collections. Now, the question I have is...have you beaten every game (that can be "beaten") in your collection? :D

Fuck trying to take pictures of all this.
I was tempted to get cute and list legacy console games that now also work damn well on certain portables, but I doubt I'd be able to fit 'em all in one post.

while I would prefer you take pics of your collection, the list you posted is evident you have amazing (if not, the best) taste in portable games here~

really great collection Mejilan! ^^

I've got old photos of my partial handheld collection floating around GAF somewhere. One of the guys here turned them into a humerous animated gif many months ago... They're pretty janky cellphone pics, though, and probably 50 or so games out-of-date.

really great collection Mejilan! ^^

Thanks. I'm kind of proud of it. I've revised my post to exclude some goodies I recently sold off (something I only very rarely do). Also, I noticed that my PSP list is slightly inflated by IGN's inclusion of PSOne Classics purchased from PSN. *shrugs*

i'm sooo jealous of your Mario Golf GBC! ^^

I'm totally clamoring for a great golf game on DS!

Greatest portable golf game ever made, IMHO. Even better than the HSG games on the PSP, or Mario Golf GBA, IMHO.

absolutely!

Now if Nintendo could get a Virtual Handheld going, we'd have a good sports library for the DS~

surprised at the general lack of GB tetris in these photos, I was certain that if everyone who played games had at least one thing in common, it was: having a GB tetris cart somewhere

I just recently learned about this thread, yet I am still unpacking from spring semester so I will just show of my DS Tower for now. Not that big, but not that small either.

C'mon, I'm feeling needy today. Someone make a comment on my game tastes.

For what it's worth, I still don't own a PSP. Hoping to get one this summer. A model with a UMD drive, or else my games will be useless.

Dude, are you crazy? Leaving out Neo Turf Masters for the NGPC like that? Crazy indeed.

I love the checkerboard design on some of the NGPCs. It makes the system look more fun to me, I dunno.

You know, I bought a NGPC back when it first came out in 1999. Had fun playing Metal Slug, Sonic, MOTM, and loved the stick-pad thing. I sold it a couple years later as I was pissed at its short lifespan and lack of US game releases. I then promptly re-bought one a year later, and then sold that one again a year after that. And now I'm thinking of buying one again.

Is it possible to mod a NGPC with a frontlight of some sort, or maybe replace the screen with a backlit one somehow? The poor thing just screams for a better display.

Yeah I believe some of the systems are backlit. I'm not sure how import-friendly they are, but seeing as how it's a portable it shouldn't be tough.

None of the NGPC models come stock with any kind of back- or front- lit screen. I was just talking about aftermarket fixes. What does import-friendliness have to do with modding the hardware? You're speaking in crazy talk.

I mean maybe finding a cell phone with a backlit color screen comparable to the NGPC screen size and switching it out somehow. Or modding a GBA afterburner kit for use in the NGPC.

You are either the coolest or the lamest person that ever lived. Coolest in my book though.

Sorry for the poor image quality, my room is horribly dim and I took these with my DSi (Blue, not pictured.)

Some of you might recognize my Lego DS dock, it made the rounds on the net a few years back.

I really wish I still had my grey brick. I gave it to my sister and when she got a GBC of her own she gave away or pawned off my old GB, which kills me just a little every time I think about it. :(

Hey BooJoh, where do you get your GBA DS Cover inserts printed? Fedex Kinkos costs too much now...
I printed them myself with a normal color printer on legal paper... they're certainly not commercial quality, but they're good enough for me.

Game.com, Gizmondo, Tapwave Zodiac?

Yeah, definately coolest.

I have Batman & Robin, Duke Nukem Mobile and Sticky Balls too:lol

My wife just got me a silver PSP for my b-day. Yay!

I also added a few new PSP games to my collection, but I'm too lazy to take photos of them right now. Later. I picked up Patapon 2, Loco Roco 2, Final Fantasy, Space Invaders Extreme, and Mega Man X Maverick Hunter. Man, the DS version of SI Extreme really is much better than the PSP version, if only for the paddle support. The PSP one just feels so slow in comparison.

nice Baron, your collection is really outstanding~ And the games you recently picked up for the PSP are AAA games (besides FF.. lol)! ^o^

Please post your entire collection with the new games when you get a chance! thanks!

nice Baron, your collection is really outstanding~ And the games you recently picked up for the PSP are AAA games (besides FF.. lol)! ^o^

Haha, FF was only $7 new at Gamestop, I couldn't resist. I am a sucker for any game $10 or under.

Ok, so I'm finally adding pictures to this madness.

This my current DS collection, I'm currently at 76 games.

My custom boxed GBA games.

My original boxed GBA games.

Loose GBA games. Shining Force I just got ($7 at gamestop FTW) and Boktai won't fit in a standard case.

My measly PSP collection. I'll admit it, it's a Monster Hunter machine and really not much else.

Standard Game Boy games. All from my childhood. It's been about a decade since I bought any.

Game Boy color games. Same story as GB games.

(I should note that I do infact have instructions but not boxes for all my GB/C games, I just didn't feel like pulling them all out for pictures' sakes)

And because only one other person had a Game.com,
