SIFTD (Shane Satterfield's website) robbed of everything

Will update if any pertinent information arises.

SIFTD (for those who always ask "What is SIFTD"?) is a video game content aggregator. They produce original content such as Pachter Factor. They had just recently announced a free option last week. Very unfortunate for them (and even worse timing).

Edit-
This is what Shane posted on siftd:

Hey everyone. Today might be the worst day of my life. I've worked so hard for this and someone just came in and took it away. We're not sure if we have insurance. We got insurance when we got the location and it was set to auto withdrawal from our account. We've went back and looked and the insurance company stopped withdrawing payment for some unknown reason. They never contacted us about it.

I hate to say it, but this might be the end of SIFTD. We simply can't afford to replace everything that was stolen. We're working with the authorities and reached out to our insurance company, but it's a holiday weekend here in the US so I probably won't hear anything until Tuesday at the earliest. Needless to say, there won't be a GameFace this week. We have no cameras, mics, or anything else required to produce a show. I cried for an hour straight. I just can't believe this happened. The world isn't fair, but I already knew this.

I feel so bad...so sorry Shane :(

Edit 2-
Few comments from Shane from their site... http://siftd.net/#!/content/23677/siftd-robbed

When someone asked about Insurance Fraud:

Shane: It's not insurance fraud. I'm not going to go through all the details because I probably shouldn't, but we weren't the only office that was broken into. They went door by door until they hit the motherlode in our suite.

About their insurance:

Shane: Yup. Looking into it, but like I said we probably won't hear anything until Tuesday at the earliest with the long weekend in the US.

This was a question about security but gives more info on how badly they got screwed..

Shane: Our office supposedly had cameras recording the entire premises and there were signs all over the outside of the building saying it. The building owner showed up today and said he didn't think the cameras were working.

God this must be devistating for him.

Hope they had insurance to cover the losses. Still though some things likely can't be replaced. Hopefully they catch whoever did it.

I can't help but wonder what the 4 people who clicked 'like' are trying to say..

They should change the name from likes to something else (and I'm not just talking Twitter). Or maybe add something alongside like, maybe one for dislike and another for bookmark, to avoid confusion.

Well I'm sure they had insurance for such situations...I would hope.

Shitty, regardless.

Jesus god damn that fucking sucks :(

Am I right in assuming that unless the perps were caught on camera they almost never get caught.

If they were masked never showed face on camera there is not much help. In general cameras are there in most cases because owners then can show footage to insurance companies. Fingerprints could help if they didn't use gloves but i don't know how US police is working (as far as i know here at my place you need to request forensic team if something "small" like this happens and that costs you).

It can't be a coincidence that this happened so soon after their new pricing options were started. I wonder if, whoever is behind this, actually followed the developments of the site.

Sucky situation all round. Hopefully they catch the cunts.

I doubt it. Stuff like this is why the phrase "when it rains, it pours" were invented.

Oh man.... And just after Shane was discussing having to raise the fee for subscriptions. I hope they can bounce back from this, and that the insurance covers the value of stolen property (as well as time).

Oh wow, didn't know Shane had something going on at all. Pretty terrible that pieces of garbage would do this to anyone.

On the bright side, I will definitely check it out his stuff as I thought he had some decent insights. Hes a great part of my favorite industry.

Look, I can't really blame them for having their stuff stolen, but no insurance seems like the biggest mistake humanly possible. I'm wary of not having insurance on my apartment, I can't imagine not having it for a business.

I'll have trouble feeling bad for them if they didn't have insurance to cover this kind of shit.

Pretty moronic to not have it, regardless of how low key their operation was.

You can go ahead and feel some empathy anyway, no one will judge you. I certainly won't--I'd much have preferred to have read some, as opposed to what you wrote.

Wait... how you guys know they have no insurance ?

I have been robbed twice in my life. It is a shitty feeling. I always had insurance so my stuff was covered but it is rough to see all your belongings gone and whatever they left behind smashed.
