Well thanks for not caring Konami.

"Plans for an Xbox 360 title update have been cancelled due to technical issues and resources," announced the publisher. "Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, Konami issued a title update for Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3), which fixed frame rate issues as well as audio-synching and other reported issues. KONAMI apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues on the Xbox 360 sku. Silent Hill HD Collection is available at retail stores nationwide."

Boy, patches and patch policies seem to be hitting X360 pretty hard this year. Konami still sucks for making it happen this way, though.

So glad I didn't pick this up. I'll go find the PS2 versions or something instead.

The thing was such a mess that they'd practically have to start over.

You can't expect that much (or anything) from Konami these days.

I'm sure 360 owners will be running out to buy it, Konami.

:lol

In my restless dreams,
I see that game, Silent Hill HD Collection.
You promised you'd patch it for me one day, but you never did.
Well, it's alone there now, on a Gamestop shelf ...Waiting for you...

why the f would you announce this? just you know, silently never release it like every other company. announcing it just makes you look awful.

I still can't get over the fact that the HD port is based on incomplete code. That's the real reason the project probably never had a chance.

My plans to ever purchase this collection of two of my favorite games ever: Cancelled.

Screw you Konami. I've still got my PS2, so I guess I'll just keep playing the superior versions and you can choke on all the money you screwed consumers out of for this "upgraded version". Konami should feel completely ashamed of how they treat their customers. Vote with your dollars folks, don't support Konami.

There was a patch here
It's gone now

ROFL

fucking konami man

what a fucking company LOL

Im laughing my ass off here haha who runs this shit some dude in a gimp outfit with a monkey on his shoulder?

Wow, what an absolutely ridiculous excuse for customer service. And the cheek to advertise it in the very next sentence :lol

Did the ps3 patch actually fix anything? Or is it still terrible? I was following it for a while, but got lost in the thread of commodore 64 mocking and such.

I actually picked it up yesterday on PS3, and I'm about 3/4 of the way through SH2 and it's been perfectly playable so far.

Still a bit of a fluctuating framerate out in the open, but nothing to damage game play. I'm also a new player of the franchise, so I don't know about the other complaints and don't particularly care as it hasn't affected me.

Is everyone just going to stop releasing patches on 360 now?

i'd like to see proof of this myth that patches cost more on 360 than they do on ps3. both consoles have cert. it's possible sony charges less, but hell it's also possible they charge more. we dont know, and my assumption is costs are similar.

until then, i dont believe it.

they possibly patched ps3 version because imo the game probably sold 2x+more on ps3 as that's a japanese/playstation oriented franchise for sure.

Oh my, that's some low shit right there. Funny, I just got HD and Homecoming on ps3, I thought I might have done goofed, guessed not. Sucks for those with the 360 version.

Although Homecoming suffers from a blurrier IQ and some missing effects, it does run better on ps3, and SH isn't exactly a game screaming out for super sharp IQ. Seems like I ps3 is the way to go for SH this gen. Anyone know how Downpour compares between the two platforms?

Yeah, but a big corporation re-releasing busted up versions of old ass games in HD isn't going to draw the ire of gaming forumites quite the way an individual or small developer might. Konami won't be losing much from being a straight up asshole about it, just like Bethsoft and Valve who also left broken and/or un-updated games out there to purchase and deal with trying to enjoy on consoles.

"To the owners of the Xbox 360 release, sorry but your version will not get the half patch we released for PS3... To the players who still have not bought it on Xbox 360 we wanted to reassure you that MS has not nuked our half baked IP-and-legacy-tarnishing release from orbit yet, so please buy it for Xbox 360".

Dear Microsoft: If you keep the same patch policies you have in place on the Xbox 360 for the next Xbox, then you know where you can go. It has become absolutely obvious that your consumers are suffering because of said policies.

And yes, I know a lot of the blame rests on those that made the game in the first place. That doesn't stop you from being a huge part of the problem however.

I guess this is how the series dies; not with a bang but a whimper.

Also, for everyone blaming Microsoft's policies on patching, I'm pretty sure this has more to do with an absolute level of total fucking incompetence at Konami. This isn't a Phil Fish "We don't have the money" situation, this is just Konami not giving a fuck anymore.

Fucking shameful.

You still kinda goofed because that port is still horrible.

Eh, to be honest, this is more like them apologizing for defacing or mutilating a freshly-exhumed corpse or two for public viewing and telling everyone they should still come and check it out. SH was dead last generation.

I wonder if this is for the same reason Fez didn't get a patch.

How is the PS3 version now with the patch? I'm guessing still shite.

Where is this being noted as a problem with Microsoft's patching policies? Provide proof in the form of links to interviews/quotes, etc.
