Sinead wrote an open letter to Miley about her recent behavior
you can read it here http://www.sineadoconnor.com/2013/10/open-letter-to-miley-cyrus/

Miley then proceeds to shade her on twitter

Before Amanda Bynes…. There was….

Sinead replies:

ANOTHER OPEN LETTER TO MILEY CYRUS
Miley… Really? Who the fuck is advising you? Because taking me on is even more fuckin’ stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism. You have posted today tweets of mine which are two years old, which were posted by me when I was unwell and seeking help so as to make them look like they are recent. In doing so you mock myself and Amanda Bynes for having suffered with mental health issues and for having sought help.
I mean really really… who advises you? have you any idea how stupid and dangerous it is to mock people for suffering illness? You will yourself one day suffer such illness, that is without doubt. The course you have set yourself upon can only end in that, trust me.
I am staggered that any 20 yr old woman of the 21st century could behave in such a dangerous and irresponsible manner as to not only send the signal to young women that its ok to act like prostitutes but also to the signal that those who have suffered or do suffer mental health problems are to be mocked and have their opinions invalidated. Have you no sense of danger at all? or responsibility? Remove your tweets immediately or you will hear from my lawyers. I am certain you will be hearing from all manner of mental health advocacy groups also. It is not acceptable to mock any person for having suffered.
It is most unbecoming of you to respond in such a fashion to someone who expressed care for you. And worse that you are such an anti-female tool of the anti-female music industry. I hope that you will apologise to Amanda Bynes and to any person who has been wounded by your mockery of those who have suffered. And I hope that you will wake up and understand that you in fact are a danger to women.
Furthermore you posted a photo of me tearing the pope’s photo .. as if to imply insanity.. by doing so all you have achieved is to expose your staggering ignorance. I suggest you read The Philadelphia Report, The Boston Report, all the reports which will illuminate for you why that action of mine remains sane and valid. By mocking it you mock every child who suffered sexual abuse at the hands of priests and had it covered by the Vatican. You could really do with educating yourself, that is if you’re not too busy getting your tits out to read.

whose team are you on?

I'm going to go ahead and say that Miley won this one. That's that ether that causes you to respond with an open letter and threats of legal action.

team #whogivesafuck

Seriously. I have actually yet to be offended or shocked by Miley and even if I was I wouldn't really give a fuck to dwell on it. I am shocked, though, about how many people are "shocked" by Miley. So Miley has indirectly shocked me. Goddammit.

So Sinead's cool now, then? Well, shit, her music isn't the worst thing in the world when I stumble across it. Then again, some of Miley's shit can be catch too.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that ripping someone for seeking help with mental health issues is a pretty dick move.

It's funny that the "Sinead O'Connor going batshit crazy" saga happened before Miley Cyrus was even born. Seems like it was just yesterday she was tearing up a picture of the Pope on TV.

i don't really understand this drama but is miley mocking sinead for those earnest, sad tweets about struggling with mental health issues. that's pretty awful if so.

Yuuuuuup honestly hadn't given a shit about anything Miley had done over the past couple months until now...and now it all appears much darker and Miley seems a lot more worthy of the derision. Another pop star earnestly offers advice and she makes fun of her for needing psychiatric help. that's wrong on several levels. can't wait for her career to burn out, because it's been very obvious that that's what this whole thing has been. the final fire before she sinks deeeep into obscurity. SNL this weekend should be fun in how terrible it'll be.

Seriously? She was basically called a prostitute and that she doesn't care about herself. Fuck Sinead.

Not that I don't think Mylie is gross, but still.

really bad reading comprehension there my dude, work on that. o'connor's original letter just warns miley against always listening to other people and letting the industry exploit and prostitute you (which seriously happens like don't even deny that). her letter is kinda wrong in that I don't think Miley has to chose a prim and proper persona, she should be allowed to be whatever she wants, but o'connor is way right in that she shouldn't be doing what she's doing if she's only doing it because a management team said so and she's afraid to lose her stardom. It's a letter from entirely the right place.

edit: and even if sinead's letter were in the wrong, you don't fucking criticize someone for wanting mental help. that's such a revolting stigmatization that the country and world are only starting to move away from, and miley just screencaps some tweets about that and says "haha look at crazy she wants therapy what a fuck" and that's cool? c'mon

Sinead tearing up the Pope's picture wasn't her going batshit crazy, that was her protesting the Catholic Churches cover up of sexual abuse by priests towards children. It's fair to say that history since then has borne out Sinead's point of view on that one.

Miley is a fucking idiot, but we kind of already knew that.

Edit: "Fucking idiot" is too much, but this really doesn't reflect well on her.

Making fun of someone for their mental problems is not even an ether anymore, that's straight up vile.

Edit:
After looking Sinead O'Connor up on wikipedia, I see she's been abused as a child. Miley you dumb asshole.

She mocked mental health like the child that she is. Maybe she'll learn some humility if she went through the experience herself.

The letter itself seemed full of common sense and pretty heart felt, she wouldn't put herself out there open to embarrassment if she didn't actually want to help the girl go through the same mistakes she did. It seems pretty maternal, especially since she's gone through the exact same thing.

A lot of posters in here have no idea who Sinead O'Connor is though.

So I take it Miley Cyrus has taken Justin Beiber's throne as GAF's favorite celebrity to follow?

Quite possibly the Internet's favorite celebrity to follow, or at least one of them. She's up there, anyway.

And I actually recognize Sinead O'Connor. Her popularity went straight to hell after that Saturday Night Live incident...

I'm sorry, but I can't agree with Sinead O'Connor on this.

First of all, I think it's completely laughable that Sinead is basically telling Miley to fall in line, considering her own history as a performer. Her first letter, in all its mock "concern" was incredibly patronizing and disrespectful. Miley is an adult, VERY aware of what she's doing, and it's really people like Sinead who are trying to read into it as some sort of cry for help (which, again, is hilarious considering....SINEAD O'CONNOR).

Secondly, her response to Miley posting her PUBLIC tweets is laughable. You're gonna get your lawyers, Sinead?

Seriously, have ALL the fucking seats.

Miley Cyrus began the whole thing by saying that Wrecking Ball's video was inspired by the video for Nothing Compares To You.

Which is fine, but don't reference people if you know literally nothing about them and then mock them for PTSD and mental health issues when they offer you advice thinking you care about their opinion.

Well I did feel sorry for Miley now I just think she's a dick. That open letter was respectful and contained genuine good advice and this is how she responds?

See Miley Cyrus?

Add 20 years.

Harsh man, Sinead is a million times the artist and musician that Miley will be ever be.

I don't like her music, but at least it's music.

People in here can hum Nothing Compares, let's see how many of Miley's songs can be hummed after 20 years.

There's at least a bunch of lies going on here?

KIDS THESE DAYS MAKIN' THEY RACKET THAT AIN'T NO MUSIC OF MINE BY GOLLY. WHY BACK IN MY DAY--

Looks like someone may have been posing as Sinead O'Connor.

Cyrus doesn't come out of this well though. Mocking mental illness is something you'd expect from a child or an irredeemable prick.

Your stanning of Miley is so puzzling - you may not agree with the initial letter but I'm sure you can still agree that Miley's response mocking people with mental health issues was completely vile. She seriously comes off as a complete shithead.

So many people pointing to Sinead's erratic behavoiur as some kind of chracter flaw - while she clearly has issues she's been public about, the 'main' act that put her in the spotlight - her calling out the Vatican and the Pope for their extensive cover up of child sex abuse - was incredibly brave. Unfortunately for some reason has the unfortunate side effect of people painting her as 'crazy'.

And - uh.. yeah is this fake? LOL.
