Sins of a Solar Empire CE $20 (Amazon DOTD)

The Collector's Edition includes the following bonus items: a foldout tech-tree poster, artwork posters, a hotkey card, and a music CD.

Wasn't even aware there was a CE for this game... but yeah, it's on sale today.

Holy eff! I wish my credit card was working online right now, but it's buggerin' up for some reason! I actually met the lead programmer since he lives a few blocks from where I used to work (large online computer retailer.) I was sad that I hadn't played it very much, but gave him props nonetheless.

Any idea how long it's valid?

Sigh... I know Stardock are amazing and everything, but I'm just not a fan of the 4X genre (except Civ, but no one dislikes Civ). I really want to break down and buy it, but I just can't. Sorry guys. :(

It's only $20 though...

I like 4X turn based games like Civ, but I was under the impression that this was more of an RTS which I don't really care for.

Sins is more of an RTS with 4x elements.

Holy crap, awesome deal. And I was looking for a space RTS a while ago too, buying this right now! Now just to find something to cover the free shipping.

If this was downloadable I'd buy it right now. Still like $40 on Impulse though?

You can add it to your impulse account as if it were a download. No disc is ever required to play.

I just mean if I could play it tonight, I'd jump. MLB09 comes out next week so if I order this I won't play it for a long long time.

Plus, my impulse control is much better when I know I have to wait on shipping...and the Steam deal hasn't been announced yet.

You can register this on impulse like a valve game with steam.

But yeah if it werent for mlb and dow2 i would get this.

Awesome game.

It's not exactly a big-budget production but what is there looks good enough The real fun comes from the amazing depth. Really complex game.

This is a really fantastic game, and well worth it for only $20. I think it also bears mentioning that there was an expansion pack just released (Entrenchment) on impulse for $9.95. New units, some new graphics, and things like giant starbases look like they will really add a lot to the game!

meh

I thought it was an almost average 4x game and a run-of-the-mill RTS game. The best thing it had going for it was the complete lack of any contemporary competition. (Although I slightly prefer Sword of the Stars if that counts.)

Entrenchment has a lot of appealing qualities though.

Installed it and just tried to give it a go online but there's 1 problem. I'm the only person in the world playing the game. I really hope my settings are messed up or something :(
