Sitting on your ass-age: Video game chairs

A fucking beanbag chair? God...get some class.

I really want one of these, but the price is a little too up there for me at the moment.

EDIT: The chair is the same in USD as it is in CND. :lol

Ha, ha. get some class.

My wife's uncle has a basement full of hideous late 60's early 70's furniture. I had no idea it went from tacky to retro. Makes me wonder about the rest of your decor when you want a bright orange chair.

And for when Money is no object and you have measly 1800 laying around then there is the NETHRONE. A fitting throne to any command center.
Not to be confused with a Hentai sex torture device.

What in gods name is THAT? If you hadn't have already said it I would have called it a torture device of some sort, possibly a interrogation/indoctrination device.

Ikea Poäng.

Made of pure win.

Wooden armrests are annoying. Sometimes I get tired of sitting and want to go sideways and lie down. Wooden armrests would suck.

Also the padding doesnt look think enough to be comfortable for a very long time.

There ... are ... FOUR lights!!!

my mother in-law likes the Poäng. It's a chair for old people.
It's true, not all of us are 14 any more. :lol My bones creak when I sit down, and I remember the old days fondly.

...and yes, that chair is a total rip off in Europe. It's £110 ($220) in the UK.

Gamepod. It's what I enjoy sitting in when playing a good rocking game! Works with games, music and movies. That tactile transducer in this chair kicks butt. But looking at what the OP wanted, this may be a bit much more than what you're needing. Still it's a fun chair.

God, I wish my setup was half as nice as you guys'.

I just have an end of the era SDTV and my torn up computer chair two feet away from it. =(

Clearly I wouldn't get the orange color...

This man speaks the truth - these types of chairs are so comfortable. If you have room for one, I highly recommend picking one up.

This was my uncles' chair for a few years, came the time for him to get a newer one and I got the call. I was at his house within 5 minutes with a truck to haul this off to my house. So comfortable.

they are filled with polystyrene foam, the same as what you get when you buy a VCR or something, it breaks down quite easily.

That's a shame...I was giving some serious thought to it before I heard that.

if anybody wants to do this on a budget(and i do mean on a budget), before i got my big-ass couch, i was gaming with a single piece of a sectional i bought at united furniture warehouse for 18 bucks. i used it for about a month before i got everything set-up here:

i screwed 3 2x4 wood peices to the bottom front, and it just sat right back. so comfy

*scans for bottles of piss*

wouldn't hurt to get one of these

Here's one I prepared earlier.
You don't need any other furniture.

I want one of these, but my screen is sort of high and TFT so not such great viewing angles if this sits too low, how high off the ground is it?

No leg rest/stool = fail
There is actually one you can buy separately. Not built in = choice = win! :lol

Oh, and that rocker chair might be shite... but that picture above is hawt. :D

I wanted one of these but did the ROcker 200 all sold out and they stopped making them? =(

I have one.. it's a killer chair for gaming, watching movies, or anything. I managed to get one with the all-black cushion, too.. so it doesn't look too cheesy.

yes you can buy poang foot rest, they have different types of covers for it, leather and light pad fabric and heavier pad fabric. it was easy for me to build. i have no appendix right now but it is still comfortable for me.

my cousin has beanbag it is very comfortable but i've never really been able to play games in it, and it has gotten shittier and shitter since purchase. very nice at beginning though you get to beat the hell out of the thing it comes in to open it up.

I got one of those for like $39 at Costco a year ago on clearance (black/gray cover).

Could use a bit of more lower back support, but I really like it... and use it almost daily.
You can roll it back zero-g style and just balance it like that pretty easily, it's a cool feature.

I just finish upgrading my couch in my movie/gaming room with a couple of bass shakers,

bass2.jpg

I'm running them with an old sub woofer connected to my surround system, this is on of the best upgrades I have done to my movie room. Paired with the regular sub woofer, the couch rumbles and it makes you think that the sub woofer is doing all the job. Great update for playing games and watching movies.

ok this thread made me look up the rocker chairs, I really didn't know they were still making them, probably because I always go right to the gaming/dvd/music section in these stores and never look at furniture. so I think I'm gonna get this:

$42 for a audio rocker from target... it says I can get it in-store near me so I'm gonna go up there this week and try it out, buying if its the same as the old ones I got now.

These are 80 bucks!

How is that cheap?! Not to mention they show a Steelers colored chair on the main page, and then when you go to the team colors section, they have everything BUT the Steelers one.

Epic fail.

i have this same chair and it is super comfy. being higher off the ground makes it better then the lesser expenive ones for sure.

i don't use the speakers anymore though after many times of the wires being across the floor getting hung up on or tripped on. so until a proper wireless one is made i think my next one will be speakerless like this...

although this one looks as if it would be very comfy.

this says you can make your old v rocker wireless:

http://www.xfunctional.com/faq.htm
How do I "go wireless"?

To retrofit your Vrocker & Xrocker and make it wireless, email service@acebayou.com
or call 866.969.2603/931.359.2603. The wireless retrofit costs $45.00 plus shipping. We accept all major credit cards.

Just plug the micro transmitter into the headphone jack of your audio source and the micro receiver
into your X rocker. Goodbye wires, it's that easy.
