You still haven't answered one very simple question so that I know where you are coming from.... What do YOU consider a flop? 100,000? 500,000? 1,000,000? 5,000,000? 10,000,000? 100,000,000?

(And the 16 Pro not selling as well as last gen, again, does not make it a flop unless Apple have come out and said it will be a flop unless it sells more than last gen)

Sales and metrics are half the conversation. If you lost the war on narrative, its already over. Even then 250K-500K for PS Brand Hardware is a flop. And I'm being conservative.

Also, no company will come out and call their product a flop. If that was the case Microsoft is successful in having even some market share.

No way. Have you seen PS5 sales? As this video points out, where are the games? Yet it's selling extremely well. This is going to be an enthusiast product, even if it's a half baked and overpriced one. Sonys not expecting gangbusters.

I guess it will do worse than the ps4 pro... Most people were hyped with the ps4 pro and it only ended up selling 12% of total ps4 sales.

I guess it will sell 10 million units and Sony will never talk about it again and they will be fine with it. It's a expensive product after all, so the low sales are expected.

Well one of us is going to be way off because I think it will sell between 5-10 million, I'd say below 2 million Sony would consider it a failure and 2-5 million below expectations but that's just guess work on my part (that's total sales until they stop making the thing)

Its relatively expensive for a console, but its still 1/3rd of the price of a 4090.

I agree with you on most fronts here, but in PS4 era there were games that looked and performed like shit on PS4, while Pro version was ok and clearly the main focus of developers for some reason.
