Skyrim PS3 - How does the DLC make the game run..?

I was just wondering.. has any gaffers tried the DLC for Skyrim (they are out now aren´t they?)...

do they make the game run worse..? are the even playable.? I remember how Fallout 3 was a broken mess with DLC.

Because I liked the game, but will not waste money on stuff that breaks a game or doesn´t work as promised..

they managed to fix the PS3 version pretty good after the initial mess..

but how does the DLC run..? is it worth my money..?

I know I'm not touching it until a GOTY edition is released, at $20. And yeah, Fallout 3 DLC, I couldn't even finish the last one. Always became a slideshow and locked up.

I just beat Dragonborn and it runs "ok" Frame rate is all over the place at times. But I found it playable. Only had one solid lock up of the console. The main game runs a lot better with the patches, but still not the best.

If you don't mind the dips in frame rate here and there I think its worth it. It's also still half off PSN until the store updates today.

It's mainly a solid 30fps for me, with the dips to lower 20's happening in the towns and during combat.

Funnily enough it runs better than the main game for me. I'm kind of surprised to be honest, given that as soon as I installed Broken Steel for Fallout 3 the framerate tanked horribly, and glitched out to hell. With Dragonborn so far (~7 hours in) I've not had any performance issues to really write home about, or any bugs. Funnily enough it runs better than my 360 copy (which had Dawnguard and Dragonborn installed). I have a ton of hitches on that playthrough with Dragonborn, but I've not encountered them so far in my PS3 playthrough.

EDIT: For what it's worth, on reading the official forum, if the game runs badly for you now, it still will. But if it's run fine prior or you have a new build it should run "fine".

Im not sure, but i wont even bother with Skyrim again unless Beth releases the GOTY edition on PS4. Theit techinical mastery of the PS3 leaves much to be desired.

Even on the 360, which generally has good performance for Skyrim, Solstheim has some frame rate and draw distance issues. Nothing massive but it's not as good as the main game.

Have been playing through Dragonborn from a fresh playthrough/install. Have had several hard lock ups, but game runs okay. Normal hitches and stutters associated with a Bethesda on PS3 title, though to be fair since I am playing on a fresh save/install, I don't know how long-term performance will be effected.

nice to know.. The game rane "fine" enough for me.. sounds good..

Too late, in my opinion. Skyrim hype is dead and there ain't no reason to pick it up unless it's GOTY Edition in a Bargain bin. Too many games coming out to warrant investing time on it.

Dragonborn is running perfectly for me. And this is on a save-file that a year or so ago was totally broken and barely run at all without falling to about 1 FPS. The patches seem to have fixed it - now the save file is 15mb and everything is fine both on Solstheim and the mainland, save an infrequent very minor framerate drop.

Going to get Hearthfire later today!

The only issue I've had sofar (encountered it last night when in Raven Rock Mines) was that the textures on some objects seem overbrightened and glow. Like the geode veins and the ash spawns.

Just got Hearthfire. Don't really expect it to impact game performance like something big (ala Dragonborn and Dawnguard) would, but I'll report back if there's any issues from having 2 DLC's :)

The game was solid for me after the second (?) patch fix and I managed to Platinum the game with no worries.

Sadly, it took too long for the DLC to get here and I have no interest in it anymore.

Finished Dragonborn with a lvl 58 character and a 15mb save. Have not had one single lockup and framerate has been pretty stable, so at least its definitely playable (though it tends to start jarring after 4hours of play but just reset).

Beth might have finally got their act together at the 11th hour but i'll reserve judgement till hearthfire & dawnguard are ingame, as I still expect Beth to cock it up in a new and totally unoriginal way

Bloody Skyrim has installed the DLC trophies even though I cancelled the update. I've got no interest in getting the DLC (too long after release) and the only reason I haven't sold it already is because I need the Daedric Walker trophy.

Games should only add DLC trophies when you actually buy the DLC :o(

Am I the only one waiting for the GOTY to be announced for PS4? Skyrim is one of those games that make me envy PC gamers, but really don't want to take the leap. A clean, honesplty priced PS4 GOTY version for PS4 launch featuring some of the mod tweaks (like the Dark Souls-like random spawn one) would get me in "shut up and take my money" mode instantly.
