Skyrim Special Edition...crickets...crickets

Ok, may have already been brought up, but this game is coming in just a few weeks and there has been (unless ive missed it) next to ZERO videos of it, hands on previews, or anything.

As one who never played through it on PS3, i am interested in the PS4 edition but the complete lack of any news, gameplay videos or any hands on reports at this stage is really concerning.

I played the original on PC up until the point where I hit encumbrance and that was the end of that.

If you've never played it, you should definitely play it. As for this remaster, maybe just wait when it releases to have some reviews and/or feedbacks from GAF.

Yeah I don't see the appeal of the ps4 version at all
Yeah. Without mod support, unless it's a technical disaster on XB1, the PlayStation version of Skyrim is set to be the inferior version again.

It goes without saying that the PC version will be the best version.

I definitely enjoyed Skyrim, but not enough to double dip. Especially coming out a few days after Ashes of Ariandel

Also lack of mods on PS4 doesn't bother me. If this and Fallout 4 were as good as people say I wouldn't need to mod them to have fun

I'm kinda interested in it because I didn't really play much of it first time on the 360 but im not particulary hyped because

1) Much bigger newer titles keeping me tied for the next couple of months

2) No mods on PS4

3) Not expecting that much of an amazing port with lots of effort

Will pick up in January or whenever it hits a decent sale price. I doubt Bethesda give that much of a shit either tbh

Can't wait for those PS4 mods-

Oh.

Having went through the buggy hell that was the PS3 version, I still was able to have 100+ hours of fun, but the only thing that will get me back into would have been mods. Then they announced they wouldn't be on PS4 so now I'll wait until I get a decent PC in the future and play it there.

It is weird that they've been radio silent on this. Not even any u9dated screenshots.

I want to pick this up but getting a little worried about it

I'm getting it. I love Skyrim, though it is pretty shallow. I played it on PS3 so looking forward to play a more stable version on PS4.

If only there was a way it could be bypassed, some sort of mo... mod-ee... modification or something that you could do to the game with just a couple of clicks to make it --and plenty of other enhancements and improvements to tailor your personal experience-- happen.

Oh.

Pretty much kills the game dead for me.

Not to mention I'm very conscious about the amount of remasters I'm playing. Dead Rising I really enjoyed, I want to play Arkham Asylum/City because they were phenomenal, but... we should be playing new games right? Getting deja vu.

They did? I thought they released some bs about how they were gonna find a workaround for this but fallout was a no go....

I wouldn't trust them or buy it either way. I'm waiting for fallout 4 mods or nothing

I already have it pre-ordered for the Xbox one. I'm hoping alot of the quest bugs from the original versons of the game have been fixed with this port.

I feel like this was designed with Bethesda assuming they'd get PS4 mods in. Since that's not happening, they're in a tough spot with marketing.

I'm really curious how easy it will be to transfer 32bit skyrim mods to the 64 bit client. I hope it's not too complicated otherwise I really don't see a lot of modders bothering making the transfer over.

Yeah this is strange. I'd wait for reviews and tech analysis.

Anyways I have to wait till I have an Xbox One cause I'm sure not getting the PS4 version without mods.

I'll check out the free PC upgrade, not expecting much, but the addition of a 64-bit option will be nice. Skyrim and Oblivion were hot garbage for melee/sword builds, but they can be fun for magic builds.

Sony's fault.

Sony's fault for wanting at least some technical oversight on installed mods so that they don't break the game or freeze up consoles, like a lot of people are having with the XB1 version of Fallout 4. Yeah, they're monsters.

ERM i wouldn't blame Bethesda. Sony should take most of the blame

I bet it's something like Bethesda wants people to pay for mods using a service outside of PSN and Sony was like "Nah you can't enable mods on our platform without giving us a slice of the pie bro".

Wait, PS4 version doesn't get mods? That's rich. Thanks Bethesda

After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.

Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.

We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.

Are you taking the piss? You think it's reasonable for a company to demand a publisher QA how thousands of mods work with the game individually- then with each other? The idea of mods as their inherently designed "breaking" the game doesn't exist- it's FUD.

Games without mods don't have appeal now?

A game without the ability to mod has less appeal than the same game on a different platform that does.

Yeah I don't think so. They still allow mods to be hosted anywhere for PC games, including Fallout 4. I said this before the F4 launch and was told I would look stupid, but there's no way they're going to try paid mods again. It seriously almost destroyed all of their good will and the entire community in less than 24 hours.

smh people still defending Sony over this. There are also no mods for Fallout 4 on PS4 and all the mods for Fallout 4 are free so I'm very certain it has nothing at all to do with something like this at all.
Sounds more like "hey I don't like Bethesda so tales from my ass"

To be frank there are plenty of mods that do the exact same thing on PC so yeah I put this fully on Sony.

Consumers should be allowed to install whatever mod they want and simply have a disclosure pop up warning you that you put your game / console at your own risk installing.

I'm quite excited for it, mostly because I'm getting it for free on PC. It's just an excuse to replay Skyrim really.
