I got play Skyrim in portable mode at the weekend and I was really impressed with how it handled. I was in Riverwood and had about four or five pissed off villagers on screen running after me to murder me and the game stayed smooth with no stuttering or frame rate crash.

I didn't get to go to any of the massive cities, but from what I've seen it was a smooth experience.
