Sleeping Dogs PC Performance Thread

Just got back into this. Solid 60 fps at 1080p with everything maxed, but AA set to the middle setting. So glad they fixed the daytime framerate issues. Not I just need to figure out where the hell my latest save went. :/

EDIT: This is on a slightly overclocked 7970 and a heavily overclocked (4.8 ghz) i5 2500k by the way.

Anyone here of a fix for screenshots that just show up as a black screen?

I have tried using Afterburner and Steam, and both turn up as just black screens.

Frustrating because this game looks so great.

Anyone using SweetFX with this game? I booted up the game and it doesn't seem to work with it anymore.
Yeah. Looks damn good too. What doesn't work for me anymore is Crossfire, but I'm not sure if it ever worked properly on SD.

You may need to delete the exe / SweetFX files, reinstall DX from the redist folder, and copy the FX files over again.

I used to be able to play this fine, I bought the latest DLC and now the game is an unplayable stuttery mess.

I updated vid drivers but it has made no difference

Not happy Jan :(

- edit -

Ok...so when I run the in-game benchmark tool, I get an average 55fps

Theres no way it is running at that, and even the benchmark when running has the weird rubberbanding/stuttering

What the hell is going on with this game ?

Have you tried contacting our official tech support team for help with this issue?

I sorted out my issue (just in case more ppl come across this post with the same symptoms)

Turns out the cause of my issue was my CPU overheating. I run a program called Speedfan which dynamically changes the cpu fans dependent on the temperature. For some reason the program wasnt running properly or the settings had screwed up a bit

The cpu fan was spinning at 30% (around 700rpm) in-game when normally it cranks up to 100# (around 2500rpm) when playing games. This explains why the stutter was there with all gfx settings on lowest

As soon as I reconfigured speedfan again and ensured the fans were keeping my cpu cool while the game was running, all was silky smooth again

Sorry to have blamed the game on this one, it was a silly issue on my end

I got this running on my PC and for the most part it runs fine until I get into the city. Driving for some reason has slowdowns and occasionally dips below I'd say 30fps randomly. I have a FX4100, MSI Radeon 7870 OC'd and 8GB DDR3. I run the game maxed out and switching settings off/on doesn't affect performance.

Bought this while it was in the Steam sale having tried the demo which ran like a dream on my rig

2.2 ghz Quad Core i7
6gb ddr3 ram
geforce GT635m

Upon installing the full game it runs like a dog as soon as I pass the opening chase sequence. Have the latest nvida drivers, have run the optimization tool they offer and it boots up fine, with a smooth stable framefrate, but after a few minutes or so it becomes an unplayable mess. Framerate drops and the audio has this weird issue as though its being played underwater.

Any ideas? Very annoyed especially after the demo ran fine

You're not using the HD texture pack, are you? I'd say if you're using a mobile GPU, that'd be the first thing to disable. It might not be that (I have no idea how good mobile GPUs are these days) but it's a start. Also try turning down things like AO and AA.

No HD pack. Performed the benchmark and its showing peak 79fps and average of 39fps. As soon as I start playing it reverts back to being a stuttery mess within a few minutes. Real strange one this. I've been fine gaming with this rig, apart from Alan Wake, which again causes random sound issues and stuttering

Bought this game in the recent Steam sale. Can't for the life of me enable the HD texure pack. Keeps telling me it can't be enabled and to go dl it, but Steam says it's downloaded.
