Slutty Brownies

Had this instead of a birthday cake last week. It's tasty, but I could not stomach more than a small square of this. It was just way too much for me in larger quantities. I needed some vanilla bean ice cream to offset it.

I was actually tossing the idea around with some family and one suggested that the middle layer be cream-cheese instead of oreos. It'd definitely offset it tasting too rich, though I have no idea how that'd bake up.

Yeah, I would modify it. Really, the only appeal for me with the inclusion of the Oreos was the cream filling. Not the chocolate cookie wafers. Adding that to the chocolate brownie layer and the chocolate chips is a bit of overkill.

Marshmallow fluff might be a good alternative but I'm not sure what that does when it's baked.

I had this last weekend, shit nearly killed me. Ate about half of it and just tossed the rest - I've felt like shit all week as result. Definitely something to try, but I definitely won't be eating it again, at least for a year.

Made a batch today, my mom helped me

She threw some marshmallows on top when we stuck it in the oven

Pretty good, by far the messiest thing I have ever baked haha

Oh yes. This is happening.

I made these last week. They're alright, not the greatest thing in the world like I was hoping. It just tastes like a hodgepodge of whats inside it, which is dope.

It took like ten minutes to make (not including baking time) with very little effort so just do it

Okay so I made these tonight. For me, it was more out of curiosity as opposed to something I really wanted to taste.

After I took out the appropriate amount of butter, I realized that this was gonna be a huge mistake. Still I went forward with it. The further I got, the more I realized that this isn't really something that appeals to my tastes.

I think they came out as best they could've, but I just didn't want them in the end. I ended up eating a tiny portion, and boxing up the rest. I think I'm just going to take the rest to work tomorrow.

Made these with twix the other day (thanks for the suggestion btw. I went with them over rolos because oreos have like a cracker type part and I figured I'd try to keep something stiff in there in case it would just fall apart without it) and oh my god.

I ate one. There is still a bunch in a tupperware thing in the kitchen. It's really good. It's too good. Way too rich.

I made these yesterday for a party. Didn't really try to be too serious about it; more experimental than anything else. So I didn't do the "from scratch" version, but instead just used Nestle cookie dough for the bottom layer and Ghirardelli dark chocolate brownie mix for the top layer, with regular Oreos in between.

They actually came out as good as I could have imagined. Nothing was undercooked or overcooked, even though the cookie dough and brownie mix had different baking temperatures. Of course, edge brownies were still more chewy than the middle ones, but not by a signficant amount, surprisingly. I guess I just oiled up the pan well enough. Basically, everything came out as it should have; the cookie and brownie parts were cooked to perfection and the Oreo part was moistened into a well-integrated brownie-like texture.

My friends kept complimenting me on the brownies. One said they were the best he ever had. Hah.

I can't imagine how godly these things would be when made from scratch.

What I'm truly curious about is how well the other Oreo creme flavors (e.g. strawberry, mint, and peanut butter) work. And what about Double Stuf; is it overkill? Golden Oreos?

Lots of possibilities. I enjoy it when you can mix components together to come up with enhanced versions of classic desserts.

Made these last night. Took about an hour to cook all the way through, but OMG it was heaven in my mouth. So good. Ate two of them with ice cream, great at first then I felt like shit all night and morning :(

Taking the extras to work, I can't eat any more of those for a long time.

This looks impossibly good in pictures. I'm not being hyperbolic even, when I say that they have to disappoint. You know, it's just a chocolate pastry after all, not heaven in food incarnate that those pictures lead me to believe.

Second attempt... Success!!

After the failure of my first try, I had went back with the knowledge of using less cookie dough and less baking powder and a newly bought baking pan. The result was much much better, pretty much perfect. The only thing I would change for next time is to bake it 5-10 min less.

Served with vanilla mousse and strawberry

I am going to have to buy some ingredients, I was wondering whether or not using snickers instead of oreos would work if I cut them in half. Or maybe crunchie honeycomb bars me thinks.

I've been wanting my girlfriend to make me these ever since I saw this thread. Might have to bring it up again today.

This is not helping my diet fortitude :/ Maybe I can make these and distribute amongst my housemates and live vicariously through them instead

My first attemt while not a complete failure was not very sucessful, the pan I used was too big and I did not have enough brownie mix to cover the cookies all the way. But the saving grace was that the cookies melted very nicely. Will try again in a couple months or so when my sugar levels go back down.

I need to figure out how to introduce more caramel into it.

Suggestions?

Twix sounds good. I'd also be tempted to try stroopwafels:

Going to make this up this evening using boxed mixes for a BBQ, and then properly from scratch tomorrow for a friend's birthday. Will be adding some macademia nuts and sour cherries to the brownie mix to give it some crunch and bite :D

Sadly I will be enjoying vicariously as still have 10lb or so to lose.

Had this once, never again. After I ate a piece my body started to shake and I felt lightheaded. Too much sugar for me.

I usually don't give too much of a crap of what goes into my body but this...this is a bit much I think.
