Small animations in games that please you

I literally just noticed this (didn't really pay much attention to it I suppose), but the snow in Super Mario Galaxy will turn into actual snowflakes if you get them to get right in front of the camera. I thought that was a great example of little, extra details that put a big smile on my face.
Even better:
Fuck, I need to replay this. So perfect.
What is the best version nowadays? I originally played the Wii version.

In Final Fantasy XIII if you move the current playable character back and forth really fast they will do a hidden "irritated" animation. Every character has their own unique one. It's their visual way of telling you (as the player) to stop moving them around like an idiot. Couldn't find a gif though.
Another neat FF XIII one is if you get the camera zoomed right up into the characters face you can move their eyeballs around. It's crazy attention to detail like this that is sorely missing from the 2 sequels.

Generic crouch animation isn't that cool to me.
Not really an animation but this reminds me of how in the same level, prince froggy's castle, yoshi's eye widen and he looks at the screen when Kamek uses his magic on him instead. Can't find a pic though.I love the Boo Guys' reaction in Yoshi's Island when Yoshi pounding makes them drop the bomb too soon;

Even the act of leading Rambi to a platforms edge has his legs start getting closer and closer as he edges towards the drop, its such an easy thing to miss completely.

K so I said earlier I'd gif the turning animations in REmake and MGS2, but as it turns out scouring youtube vids for specific frames is very boring. So here, take a grabby zombie instead
Also want to get a hunter pouncing the player and then shoving a grenade in its mouth.

I can't find any GIFs, but I've been playing through Lost Odyssey again and I'm consistently impressed by the animations in that game. Even the walking animations look pretty sweet.
It's kind of crazy to think about how much time and energy must've gone into making that game... and how poorly it did.

That's pretty beast.
I think he's talking about how when you t-bag the body it bobs up and down. I don't know any other game that does that.
