But if you can only get one, get 2.
But that's the same as the one in the photo (minus the Japanese title). Everyone is calling this one old in here, though. I'm confused.HURGHT said:
I won't be able to provide that figure until about 24 hours after the update hit, so that I can gauge how many pints of tears of joy were poured.A Link to the Snitch said:PPS: Jiggy, got any stats on how awesome this update is?
I actually kind of agree with this, yes. If Nintendo's not planning to spend a huge wad of their profits from Smash on upgrading their servers, they better well start.MThanded said:This game is going to take down nintendo wifi connection. Anyone agree with me. I can see this being a disaster.

No, it's different. It's lighter and there are clouds in the backgroundLink said:But that's the same as the one in the photo (minus the Japanese title). Everyone is calling this one old in here, though. I'm confused.

Well, Amazon has that boxart posted, along with the T rating. Obviously it was printed out, but that's most definitely the final US boxart.ShockingAlberto said:No, it's different. It's lighter and there are clouds in the background
Also, the American version has not been produced yet and that is clearly the American boxart. Right down to the ESRB logo.
Who knows, Amazon has changed boxarts in the past.Link said:Well, Amazon has that boxart posted, along with the T rating. Obviously it was printed out, but that's most definitely the final US boxart.
Look closely at the receipt. The title of whatever it is is too short. It says "WII" at the end which means that the title couldn't have been long. Otherwise it would be cut off. If you have an EB Games receipt lying around, take a look and you should see that the SKU title is probably cut off if the name of the game is long.Provider said:WTFITS!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????

See, a leaked Japanese copy is feasible, which is what we thought you were trying to show usLink said:Well, Amazon has that boxart posted, along with the T rating. Obviously it was printed out, but that's most definitely the final US boxart.

Totally. Ice Climbers team is great, the Zelda/Sheik optional switching is great, the Pokemon Trainer's forced switching is great, and Olimar's dependence on his Pikmin is also great. They've really gone all out to make people care about these characters, even people who have no familiarity with or nostalgia for any of them.MrCheez said:He is going to be such an awesome and interesting addition to the game. I know some people never appreciated the ice climbers, but I LOVED the unique gameplay they offered. PT looks to offer the same, and now we have Olimar.
I know that the box itself is fake. The boxart, however, is almost definitely the final boxart for the US. So people saying "old boxart" is what was confusing me, because there is no "newer" US boxart.ShockingAlberto said:See, a leaked Japanese copy is feasible, which is what we thought you were trying to show us
A leaked American copy is not
And that's very much the American boxart
Where am I losing you here, because this shouldn't be a hard concept

Icon 13 pretty much confirms the return of Mr. Game & Watch. Icon 1-11 are franchises introduced in 64, 12-14 are franchises introduced in Melee, and 15+ are franchises introduced in Brawl.
And Game & Watch is the last franchise introduced in Melee that is missing from the list

As much as I wish Smash Bros. was representative of Nintendo as a whole, I really can't see it that way. :/ Sakurai does basically everything Nintendon't: robust online, feature-rich gaming, fanservice out the ears, tributes to all of gaming history, and representations of franchises that most of Nintendo probably doesn't particularly care about, such as Mother (no release outside Japan) or F-Zero (declining sales, three GBA games last gen).TopDreg said:What's awesome about this update is that Nintendo still cares about the Pikmin franchise, enough to put it into one of their greatest selling game series.
MrCheez said:My old harddrive that had the layered PSD file died and I'm too lazy to cut out all the characters from the gradient background and resize/reposition them all again
Maybe some day I'll redo it :/
Smash does act as somewhat of a trojan horse, however. If it weren't for Marth and Roy in Melee, the Fire Emblem series may never have made it here. I am sure someone at EAD is thinking about a Kid Icarus revival thanks to Brawl.Jiggy37 said:As much as I wish Smash Bros. was representative of Nintendo as a whole, I really can't see it that way. :/ Sakurai does basically everything Nintendon't: robust online, feature-rich gaming, fanservice out the ears, tributes to all of gaming history, and representations of franchises that most of Nintendo probably doesn't particularly care about, such as Mother (no release outside Japan) or F-Zero (declining sales, three GBA games last gen).
I do think Nintendo values Pikmin, though, but I wouldn't quite call this update proof of it. >_>

Just on the Melee list (as red) it looks like. Maybe Sakurai has had the idea of including Red since Melee, but couldn't fit him in that game?
Looks like I was wrong about Pit and ZSS being on the list. In Pit's case, however, he has always been heavily requested by Americans primarily I think... and these were Japan-only polls.
In any case, I think it's really really apparent that Sakurai listens very carefully to the fans.![]()
