I really want to see zelda's FS. I predict usage of Light Arrows. PWNAGE!

Interesting you say that given the new CoroCoro http://brawlcentral.com/

They also say that Sheik is confirmed and Snake and Sonic are hidden characters.

mmmm that looks tantalizing!

and yes, I hope zelda and sheik have been balanced. I love using Zelda but she is was not worth using when sheik was so readily available. I want to have a reason to use Zelda!

Word, I wonder if Sheik will have her own FS or if she'll just revert back into Zelda for the Light Arrow FS.

"There’s a method for powering yourself up as needed to do battle with the Subspace Army—a method that has not been seen before.

I’ll explain this in great detail another time."
I hope it's more the Zelda/Metroid style of powering up [i.e. collectable items or upgrades] as opposed to the RPG style of powering/leveling up via experienced earned. I'm really looking forward to Subspace Emissary, but I have absolutely no interest in playing a Smash Bros RPG. The fact that Sakurai initially described it as a sidescrolling action game gives me hope that this won't be an issue and any RPG influences will be marginal, at best.

And since I didn't get around to posting about the update, I'll just say now that I really like it. I doubt I'll ever play as Snake except out of intial curiosity and maybe a few times for fun here and there, but I'm pleased about the considerable diversity we've seen thus far in terms of the different final smashes. I'm sure it would've been much easier for the developers to just make them all really powerful attacks in the vein of Samus or Mario's FS, but instead we've got some really unique and cool ideas happening here.

Why are you guys getting so hyped up over whos an unlockable and who isnt?

Should be more concerned with finding out who's truly on the rest of the roster, IMO.

GAF -> internet -> GAF

(that came form this thread even!)

Since we can assume there's at least 10 unlockables (based off Melee) knowing more of the revealed characters are starters makes us a little more comfortable that there's a number of unlockables still hidden. Of course we'd all rather find out the roster, but we don't really have any means of learning more

Because who is on the starting roster and who is not will determine whether upon purchasing the game I first go play four player local multi with friends, or instead go straight home and get going on beating the Subspace Emissary.

Melee had 11 unlockable characters, if that makes any difference at all.

...But not hitting 26% means it would hit exactly 25%.
Or would it? Maybe I'm saying the official thread will reach 25.999999% the size of this one. >_> <_< Or maybe the number is a red herring and I'm saying it'll hit 23.81%.

There you go again. Clearly the number you wanted to use was 23.80%. What are you really afraid of, Jiggy? What are you really afraid of?

Speaking of The Subspace Emissary, I really hope that Sakurai takes a cue from The Great Cave Offensive (his own game) and gives us some clever puzzles to solve in order to earn any trophies or CDS attained in the SSE.

One of the strongest aspects of GCO was the creative ways you had to use your abilities to find treasures. If the puzzles are suited for the powers of different characters, it will add replay value. And that's always good. :D

Maybe that's why the teams are set as they are. :o
Although I'm not sure what it is that both Peach and Zelda could share in common, other than phenomenal vertical height. (Which Kirby can also do, making that sort of redundant.) Maybe Din's Fire and the turnips would provide the long-range that Kirby couldn't get.

The MP3 format can still be used for games, just not for the "upgraded" Photo Channel. Of course, whether Nintendo's doing that or not is another matter...

I bet you a hojillion dollars that there will be a forced update when you put the Smash disc in.

Unfortunately the Int Sys guys said in an interview that when Sakurai contacted them for assets, they didnt ask for PM ones. Could have changed though since then

Man some of those "leaks" are damn delicious -_-

I WANT TO BELIEVE :(
Well, at least most leakers agree on Ness returning. I have been replaying Earthbound, and I'd hate not to have him in there; actually, this games need more earthbound characters. Jeff would be awesome too.

The leaked info is pretty cool. Zelda's final smash looks amazing. I can't wait to see the official update. Also can't wait to see the new Sheik model! :D

I always felt that Sonic and Snake would be unlockables. I still think some of the other characters revealed will be hidden as well. We shall learn soon enough.

this time he's in his car ;)

After giving it some thought, the only replacement for the Knee that I would find acceptable would be a headbutt.
I wish he would headbutt people after grabs too.

In other words, Zinedine Zidane for Brawl.

Does not compute.
As long as he has the knee, the Falcon Punch, the Falcon Kick, and his old back air, it's all good by me. It's not like I ever really used anything else with him.

Read number three most notably. He's already gotten a decent amount of things right, and the rest of his predictions would be awesomely insane.

number 3 mixes in "lies" with his "legit" info so that when his stuff gets deconfirmed on the Dojo he has a way out. If that doesn't set off a few sirens, I don't know what will...

Plus i don't see what he's gotten right on there. the only one who's made a solid prediction that got confirmed so far seems to be the Dragoon parts guy. There's no way he was guessing. edit: I forgot, Starman.net leaked some stuff as well, and they were spot on

I'm quite surprised there's been no full leak yet. I expected the full roster to be out by now, with some sort of proof to back it up

Maybe Nintendo prevented it by finally buying the country of Japan.

-Subspace Emissary Detail: Diddy Kong & Samus vs. Tortimer (Possessed by Ganondorf)
the hell?
Captain Falcon is back with a new moveset.
every move to be knee based confirmed
-Metal Gear Solid will also have a item in SSBB, Magazine throw on the floor and if a fighter walks over it they will become distracted by it.
pikachu looking at magazines sounds kinda wrong

Isn't tomorrow the 200th update or something? Its been a very good week this week, so hope it goes out with a good bang, like another character reveal :lol

prediction: either a stage or AT, not had one of those for a while.

199th. If you look at the updates on the Dojo by date, there are 13 full pages of 15 updates each, for 195, and then page 14 has 4 updates, so it might seem like 199 are already up...

...but one of those is the Delay/E for All notice, which is only on the US site.

I got 2 questions. First, could you take screen shots any time you want, or only in a special mode? My second question is if they are going to put a replay save option in the game, if so, could you save them on a sd card?

Actually, that reminds me.

Am I the only one who is a bit perplexed as to why, in Melee and Brawl, Paper Mario has never been considered as a character?

Or is there hope for him to appear in Brawl?

in a double update do you count the top update first or the bottom update first? ;)

About the second question, yes, but I can't find the link... not sure if you can transfer them to a SD Card tho, and it's short replays, if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: Found it, http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/various09.html (Mid-post, I wonder why they didn't make a separate update for this).

Screenshots: any time, but you have to pause.

Replays: you can save three minutes and it definitely looks like you can save it to an SD card. We don't know whether he means three minutes total or three minutes per replay, though.

Top, since that's how it looks in the list of posts by date.
Edit: And this is true whether you're sorting oldest to newest or newest to oldest. e.g. Pikmin: World Map was update #197, Pikmin & Olimar was update #196.
Edit 2: And I'm working from the oldest to newest look. >_>

Maybe the new format is the way that Brawl encodes the audio information for its replays. :o

SSSSSSSSTAT Breaker!

:lol

j/k

IMO if a double update occurs tonight the top would be 200 and the second would be 199 since the rest of the updates chronologically force the list down and the first is on the bottom.
