Ike looks awesome.
In terms of females, Nintendo could easily pluck a few from the Warioware franchise. Ashley, Mona, and Kat & Ana all come to mind... give Ashley magic based attacks, or Kat & Ana an Ice-Climbers-like melee attack repetoire, and you're set. From FE, it'd be great to see Lin IMO. And also Nintendo could go ahead and get Daisy and Midna from their catalog too.
I'm still waiting for Geno and Little Mac.

The new challanger thing totally looks out of place as it is what happens when unlockable characters present themselves in the other smash games. I believe the text below it "From Fire Emblem comes..." is similar to the text you read when unlocking a new character in Melee... though I don't have a screen shot to verify this.

Huh? Akira Toriyama (Dragonball's character designer) has nothing to do with Fire Emblem, as far as I know.

I really hope they put a non-sword wielding FE character in as well for variety, though... wouldn't it be fun to play as an axe-wielder or a lancer?

FE happens to have strong female characters that would kick ass in smash. Also keep in mind, you find move sets in female characters that you just wouldn't see with a male character partially due to stereotyping (imo) and partially due to the source material. variety is always welcome.

yeah, if there's an SE character, it will most likely be one of the guys that was on the Mario Basketball team, since they are sort of the all around FF mascots. My bet is on Black Mage or Moogle

I so rarely participate in these threads for predicting the night's update, but I'm gonna go ahead and say I think we may see the Fire Emblem stage that was seen in the second trailer with all the funky statues and stuff.

i'm actually quite concerned about solid snake's moveset.. he won't be able to use guns or a dagger; but be restricted to things like his nikita and stinger.. which is pretty upsetting.
not to mention, his aerial recovery is quite a bit of a mystery.

Ike's probably going to be a replacement clone for Marth/Roy. I bet more Marth-like, seeing as how he looks more like him and Marth was the better character (tier-wise).

But I really want to see more females. Too many guys! It's too uneven!
Maybe throw in Paula from Earthbound as well as a couple of female FE characters (Ayra, Lyn, Erika, Lethe, Macaiah, etc?). And definitely some Advance Wars females. Some Starfox girls would be okay too, but I don't really like Krystal. I'd rather it be Katt Munroe.
You know what? Nintendo needs to make a traditional RPG (that isn't Paper Mario) that stars a female main character! I demand it!
