that'd make a decent smash stage, actually.
I'm personally hoping for Saturn Valley, myself! Can you imagine the music getting a Brawl remix? :D

What are the odds they skip Ness, and instead put the 2 main boys from Mother 3 in the game? One playable from the start and the twin brother a secret unlockable?

purple town should be a stage. I felt the Onett stage in melee was weak. they could have done so much more.

I wouldn't be bothered if Ness was exchanged for Lucas though, both give off that lovable vibe.

PS: Poo should be an assist.

In SSBM there was 14 original characters and 11 secret

Original:

Mario
Bowser
Peach
Yoshi
DK
Captain Falcon
Fox
Ness
Ice Climbers
Kirby
Samus
Zelda/Sheik
Link
Pikachu

As of now 13 Characters have been revealed (14 if Zero Suit Samus is counted seperate)

Mario
Link
Kirby
Pikachu
Fox
Samus/Zero Suit Samus
Zelda
Bowser
DK
Yoshi
Pit
Wario
Ike

So were pretty much at the same size roster as Melee started with. Since supposed no secret characters will be revealed by Sakurai how many more characters can we even expect to be revealed through the updates. I wouldnt expect it to be to many because im sure theres still gonna be a sizeable group of secret characters as well also.

I think Peach would likely be a standard character as well; she's pretty much confirmed being in the Subspace Emissary trailer and all.

Are you counting Snake as secret? Because we can at least confirm him as a character.

Also, I think it's safe to go ahead and confirm Peach now.

Oh no I always play as Ness :( if they take it away I'll lose my favorite character! Well, as long as they replace him with anyone from the Mother series, I'll get used to that one. But still , Ness is awesome D:

Where is that awesome hand-drawn 'Flint in Smash Bros.' .gif when you need it.

I could see Mr. Saturn being promoted from Item to Assist Trophy, actually.
So you think that - like Pokeballs - there will be some useless assist trophies as well... interesting. :p

well the original one had 8 so the number of them almost doubled in melee... going by the same theory and considering that an already sizable number of character has been presented but still a lot of melee character are missing i would say a number between 20 and 25

As much as I want to see Mother 3 characters in there, that would just rub it in the Mother fans' faces that we don't get an English Mother 3.

Damn you, Nintendo, and your refusal to give me my Mother fix.

They want you guys to stop bitching about Mother 3 in English so they're removing Ness and all Earthbound references.

Games are usually sold a day after the listed date.

Nintendo usually ships the big name games before the release date so they're ready to go. Like Pokemon.

I'm back from vacationing in the middle of nowhere and HOLY SHIT AT THE UPDATES I MISSED.

You know Adventure Mode is going to kick ass when they give it a fancy subtitle.

Ive only counted ones that have been "revealed" on the site. Yea I would assume Peach would be a beginning character so you can add that one to the list. As of now im assuming that both Snake (which should be 100% secret character) and Meta Knight as a secret character.

I don't think Meta Knight will be a secret character. He has been in too many screen shots, whereas Snake has been in no screens.

Ok since I did it for characters ill do it for stages in SSBM there was 18 original stages with 11 unlockable stages. As of right now we only have 9 revealed stages. They are....

Battlefield
Delfino Plaza
Yoshi's Island
Lylat Cruise
Bridge of Eldin
Smashville
Rumble Falls
Skyworld
Castle Siege

Stages i did not include but have been semi revealed through videos are

Mario Circuit stage
Pokemon Stadium
Metal Gear
Kirby stage

(Got from OP)

Soooooooooo I expect that we will have a ton of stages revealed before SSBB comes out. At least up to 18 to match SSBM's number

If you're going to count ZSS separately (which you probably should, since they'll play differently and will most likely both be accessable to play as from the start, probably by holding A before the match begins), you should also include sheik and Zelda separately.

Roy & Marth were in Melee and no Fire Emblem game was ever released in the U.S before that. Perhaps if Lucas is introduced into Brawl, then we might see a U.S release? Maybe?
Forget the US: Fire Emblem 6 wasn't even out yet when Melee was released. Roy being in Melee was simply a marketing tactic to help out the sales of the upcoming Fire Emblem for the GBA, which I'm sure Nintendo was worried about since FE5 was a limited release done in late 1999/early 2000 for the Super Famicom, and FE4 was released in 1996. That's partially why so many people have been saying that Roy probably won't be in Brawl.

Oh, and NoA was considering removing Roy and Marth from Melee's North American localization, but decided against it.

I should've worded my post a little better, but thats what i was trying to point out.

Whoa, I just got back from a short vactation and it looks like some good stuff came Friday. Neat to see Palutena too, never really thought about that one but perhaps playable? I'm glad they are putting a good effort into the single player and giving it a sort of story, it sounds like a less retarded Kingdom Hearts.

I wonder if Doshin the Giant will be an assist trophy. After all, it was the equivalent of Animal Crossing in Europe for a while, right? Until it bombed.

ooh, that sounds probable. But Doshin is really niche (not that this stopped Sakurai before) :p

How about R.O.B. as a stage? The platforms could be the Stack-Up blocks and ROB could move them around.
i like this idea. would be the best hardware level they've made. the DS level for mario kart DS is so retarded

I say Pokemon Mode. Mario fireballs to do double damage to Ice Climbers, DK's ground pounding to do double damage to Pikachu, Pikachu's Thunder to do double damage to Pit, etc. And practically everything to do half damage to Samus.

>_>

But seriously, Peach or Meta Knight profiles.
