This week is messing with the pseudo-order. We still need a character and stage and there's only one update left. It does fall on Friday though...
 
The guy did say "later in the week" about this week being good for Earthbound fans. But eh, rumors like that usually don't end well.

They really need to make en epic Kid Icarus game. :o

Only one EB stage this time around.
 
Will the Pause screen camera mode this time allow us to actually take snaps of the game? Perhaps transfering them onto a SD card and popping them over to our PCs?

#1) Jonk didn't say it would be this week.

#2) It is a pretty vague prediction. If something new is introduced Jonk can claim that is what he was talking about. If nothing new shows up, but Ness is shown as a returning character (which is pretty certain to happen, him or one of the new characters from Mother3) then he can claim that is what his predictin was about.

#3) Jonk used to run the fanart section at starmen.net. His art is really good, you should check it out. However, I don't think that he is in a position where he has access to insider information about Smash Bros. He was probably referring to something related to EarthBound but not Smash Bros., like some sort of project going on at starmen.net.
 
Eh. I don't care for this for some reason.

The Centurions flight pattern looks more complicated than the pokemons. I can see one going right and the others going left.
 
for the record, the characters on the web site whose Final Smash we haven't seen yet are Kirby, Fox, Zelda, Yoshi, Wario, and Zero Suit Samus (if she has one)


i'm predicting Kirby's will be the next one we see
 
Love the centurions being involved, love Palutena's design. Don't love her not being playable, but I guess there are some thresholds of awesomeness that even SSBB can't pass without the universe collapsing or some such.


Then again, I guess it's not totally confirmed. Maybe she can appear in that larger form for Pit's final smash as the strongest version of herself, while still having a normal playable form who represents the weaker version who managed to get beaten by Medusa, and... ...yeah, it's not happening. Sucks, though, I would have been happy to see her in. But hey, now that they have a model for her, maybe in SSB4...

holy fuck. this game is just....everything a Nintendo fan could really ever ask for. I mean seriously, this is like the culmination of 25 years of being a Nintendo fan all wrapped up in one goddamn game. Holy shit.

Unless Platuna actually does something (like say, heal Pit to 0%) the Final Smash looks very meh.

I've only ever played Kid Icarus on VC... and you know what, the song kicks ass. So catchy.

Smash Bros is all about the female eye-candy, heh.

I wonder where the older character's final smashes are? ie Fox, Yoshi, etc.
 
One thing I do know, if they bumped it to a later time, it will be worth it.

This is brawl news that the EarthBound fans will like and may give people hope for other things.

I just heard yesterday's song and it's great, best song so far :) It really sounds like an orchestral arrangement, and the midi used sounds like a placeholder, so I think there's a good chance that it'll be orchestrated.

If he is then a mod should put one of Cosmonaut X's posts first so that he can maintain the thread.
 
I think he called Japanese people some sort of derogatory term that didn't sit well with the mods.

I wish they'd let him return, or that a mod would let us PM him the updates and they'd update the front page for us. Some guy was already willing to do so. We just need to find a willing mod.

Edit: Also, Pit's Final Smash looks visually impressive, but it doesn't impress me in terms of effect. For the amount of Centurions I saw, there'd best be something special, like:

-they attack whomever Pit targets.
-they deal 25% per hit unblocked / 10% if blocked
-they deal 10% per hit unblocked / 0% if blocked, but there's a veritable hailstorm of them.
-they/Palutena heal Pit.

One of those things would make it good. But, as it stands, it doesn't look that great.

thats why I was wondering, we need someone else to update this thread, it would be a shame for this thread to just die or be trashed because he isn't here to update.
