I think there might be retro stages in Brawl. But I do like the idea that not all characters/stages return. Because then it gives you incentive to still play/keep the older Smash games. :D

Speaking of which, will everyone still keep their Melee game when Brawl comes out? Also will you purchase the original Smash if it came out on the Virtual Console?

My answers to both questions are...YES! :D

I'll still play melee and dl 64 on VC. I've actually been play the original a lot lately. I would like all old stages with the new additions from brawl. Your reason is probably hy they won't though.

Probably yes to the latter, even though I'd never play it.
And probably yes to keeping Melee; depends on how different the SSBB physics are. SSBM was too far ahead of SSB for me to keep both, but if Sakurai's commentary about wanting to "moderate" the SSBB speed holds up, I might want to keep SSBM for its faster pace. Also for whichever characters get dropped.

Once I finish Super Metroid I need to make a topic on how I didn't like it. That's probably have people hunting me down to kill me.
I'm too lazy to go up to Canada, but you better give me your friend code in SSBB so I can take some form of online vengeance. >:(

Prediction: New item - Pikmin Nectar (effects similar to the Bunny Hood)

But we already have a Bunny Hood item!

I'm sticking with my Kirby moveset prediction.

And my three fallbacks (in order of expectations)

Kirby Final Smash
Kirby stage
Kirby item
Kirby song

I'd love for tonight's update to be a longer version of the theme played during Snake's video. Man I can't wait to hear the final version?
Yes please. Techno rendition of the Sons of Liberty Theme = FTW.

We haven't gotten two music updates from the same series yet. Which to me is a good thing, because I want my Kirby music already. They really need something other than Gourmet Race and Green Greens, the latter of which isn't really even close to the best of Kirby soundtracks... Hopefully the Battleship Halberd stage will actually have the Halberd music from Kirby Super Star.

I wouldn't mind having the boss theme from Kirby Super Star either.

I predict a free demo download on Wii VC that fuels public want of this game to levels past our own.

Meanwhile, this thread is forever abandoned as we play the demo to death and then buy the final copy of the game and forget about this crazy thing called the internet.

Hey, I can dream, right? :D

If there was a demo that cost 500 Wii Points and only had two levels and Mario and Bowser were the only playable characters, I'd still buy it and I'd play it every freaking day until the game came out. (And if it had twice the levels and characters, I'd pay twice the price.)

I don't know why Nintendo's so reluctant to do downloadable demos--well, other than the probable storage issues and how hard their servers would get hammered, anyway. They need to get on making a hard drive add-on already.

I'd pay but I'd be up in arms at the thought of paying for downloadable demos.
But yes, I'd pay.

Hell, I'd pay 2000 Wii points for what you just described :(

Or add a SSBB demo to a game coming out soon. Imagine how many copies of Battalion Wars 2 would sell if it included a Brawl demo?

I've always wondered why this sort of thing isn't done more, it makes a hell of a lot of sense.

We had a new stage, characters and assist trophies the last few days.

I'm going for some gameplay mode/aspect.

A lot of the big stuff is gonna be announced the next few days before the hands on conferences next week in Japan and the US.

Once you know how to attack, the next thing you have to think about is avoiding enemy attacks. That’s where the shield button comes in handy.

...you guard against your enemy’s attack with your shield!!

Shielding against attacks is a top priority. If you don’t take any hits, you can’t be beat! However, the more attacks your shield takes, the smaller it gets.

If your shield breaks, you lose consciousness.

But more important than guarding is dodging.

You just tap the Control Stick in a direction while holding the shield button.

Tap the Control Stick down to do a sidestep dodge!

Tap it backwards to do a backward-roll dodge!

And tap forwards to do a forward-roll dodge and get behind your opponent!

If you can do these moves, your enemies will have a hard time landing their attacks. And they make you momentarily invincible, so using them proactively is OK.

Use these moves as much as you can even before you get used to them. Sometimes things become clearer that way.
