We can't have more than one blond girl either, Peach and Samus are out!
Can't have two princesses, but thankfully since Peach is out Zelda gets to stay anyway. And now that Samus is out, that means the return of Sheik!

I've been wanting to hear some new music for a while now. They are one of my favorite update types
Probably my very favorite. :D One of the few update types that really gives me a sense of the Smash experience even though I can't play the game yet...

I was thinking, and they way WiFi will work with brawl is that in some cases we will play against unknown players. I am sure we all know this. But maybe to help prevent that we can start adding friend codes of fellow brawl-purchasers. I know there is already a friend list, I even printed it out. But the fact is there are a large amount of people on there and I don't know how many will actually purchase brawl. Maybe we can organize all the people who will buy brawl and get their friend codes on a brawl list. Over time (up to when the game comes out) we can develop a large number of people we can play with (knowingly).

Its just a thought, but I just feel that it could make the brawl online more fun for us because we can know who we are playing against, post stories, and possibly brackets for tournaments on the forums.

Does anyone else think we should start organizing friend codes early on? Or should I just go ahead and start working on the normal wii friend code list? (thank god for keyboard support, if so)

Firestorm will be setting up tournaments, don't worry. :D If history is any indication, we'll probably use demi's frostitution site for building up a database of Brawl friend codes..

Huh? Brawl uses it's own specific friend codes and we will receive them once we have the game. So, of course in the official thread there will probably a lot of people passing around friend codes and possibly organizing events but we'll deal with that when we get there.

Predicting Character tonight, probably a returning one.
So basically a repeat of the June 11th-15th and August 13th-17th weeks, where we began with a character (Fox, Pokemon Trainer) and closed with another one (Samus, Peach).

Hm. By that standard, it'll be a female character. Come on, Jigglypuff re-confirmation!

Friend codes will be different from Wii system codes, so don't make any lists yet. The biggest problem is that we can't just make a huge list of people we know because of the friend list limit. Only 64 people. I know I'm probably going to fill half of that with people I know in real life. That's my biggest issue right now =( I wish it was larger, like at least 128. Then I could get in basically everyone who frequently plays on GAF.

I'll be doing a tournament yes. Dr. Hadji says he wants to help out too, and I just realized I haven't responded to his PM since I got so busy with school and then forgot. Crap.

It's tough to say. Some people are already organized. Some people have running lists in their minds of who they really want add. Most (I assume) are counting on adding their friend first and they'll just see what happens afterwards.

The part about friends codes is both people need to input them. This is why I don't like leaving messages on message boards that say something like " I added balhblahbalhablahbalbhab, now you guys add me." Usually, they don't add him.

It would be cool to have a more active approach to trading info, but I think it'll ultimately come down to friends. Even on Smashboards it's pretty undefined.

I say, don't worry about it. If you end up getting brawl and don't have anyone to play with online, just shoot me a message.

^^^
Firestorm: I just thought you were ignoring me and we would have to settle our differences on the battle field. :D

But we don't know--
*checks Dojo, sees "3/64"*
--oh. It's like a stealth megaton, of antimatter. :( No idea how I missed that one.

Yeah Jiggy, when I saw that during the WiFi thing I was pretty disappointed. Although I can see this turning out like Pokemon where we enter the friends lobby but not challenge anyone since they're probably waiting for someone else.

There needs to be better communication >_>

I've been practicing nonstop with Melee (against humans of course), and I've gotten a lot better. When the time comes I intend to put up a goddamn fight!

If you're anything approaching pro level, though, you'll probably still slaughter me.

I don't dare touch Melee right now. As much as I love it, anything I improved at currently I'd probably have to unlearn for Brawl anyway. >_>

At least we have those messages to maybe kind of offset that effect. I hope. Depends how quickly they can be updated...

It will probably work like Jump Ultimate Stars where you can connect to a host and then whoever is on the host's list will be able to join his game. I really doubt you'd need all 4 peoples' friend codes and vice-versa.

Demi's frostitution site? I am kind of new to NeoGAF (in the case that has an affect to as why I do not know what that site is), so please enlighten me. :D

So as some others were saying, there are other codes other than our traditional friend codes that come on our Wiis? I am looking now on the brawl site but I do not see anything specific on this. I see how it says we will register our friends names though. Do we know there are other codes because thats the way it works for other Nintendo WiFi games? Because the only Nintendo WiFi game I have is Animal Crossing for the DS which I have not tried online yet, nor can I find my cartridge anymore...

Thanks for the info.

Demi (a former GAF member) has a site that he sometimes uses for Friend codes for GAF members.

We ought to get a ventrilo channel so that we can chat through PCs while playing the game online. :lol (Of course, one would have to have both their computer and Wii relatively near one another)

Prediction:

Newcomer: Security Officer

This of course is a tie-in with Bungie's Marathon remake for Wii that will be announced as well.

I still play Melee every day I'm at school. But again, usually free for alls =( I'm not getting any better than I can see. I just can't don't have the technical skill and can't think fast enough. I'm fine with mindgames when it's turnbased like Pokemon, but I can't think and react at the same time in fighters. Hopefully I improve on this.

And I completely forgot about those messages! That should help. It'll probably become a standard to put the name of the person you're going to be playing or just saying "open - 1v1, no items" or something =)

Yeah, like in Metroid Prime Hunters. But what I mean about Pokemon is that once you go online, you see all your friends that are online and waiting for a battle. But you usually don't challenge them because they're usually waiting for another person that they challenged on GameFAQs or GAF or Smogon or something.

I didn't notice until last time I was corrected on this, but the Wii code is 16 digits and friend codes are 12 digits. They're different things, for whatever reason. >_>

Abuse sex kicks and crouch cancelling until you improve!
But nah, I'm not that great either. :lol Best among my friends, but the few matches I played against a real pro, best I could do was take down one life (out of five) and get him up to around 125% on the second life. At least when he was picking his good characters, anyway.

I'm one of the better ones at my school, but the other university on the other side of our town has some crazy good players. The things one of those guys can do with Yoshi. O_O

I'm hoping with Brawl, the playing field will even out a little.
