I'm going with Lucas. Although if Ness is available (and he WILL be. Believe.), I might use him first just to get the hang of the game. After that, though, I'm going to focus on Lucas.

Though Meta Knight is awfully, AWFULLY tempting...

I was thinking Ike also, becuz he was a character i wanted in from the start. If he doesn't work I'll try Pit.
 
I can't decide if I am going to play as Pit or Pokémon Trainer (I really hope there is some cute way to name him) first, but I plan on using one of them.

More importantly, am I going to play Story or Free-For-All first? Thats the big question.

After spending about five minutes or so in Training to warm up, I'm going to play through the Subspace Emissary. All of it. In one sitting.

Metaknight. This was decided the day I knew he would be added to the roster, and again confirmed when I saw that he looked fun as hell to play. I probably won't stick to him forever though, especially if Falco or Ganondorf are confirmed to be in and awesome. Anyway, Sonic looks fun to play too. Also, Lucas could be cool. Eh, but I could probably go on and on about how each character looks fun to play, because I think that's the case.

there's a topic on Smashboards on Ike's moves, they all look great. and Ike is NOT weak.
 
About the Marth pallet swap for Ike... That rumor has been debunked.

The "Marth" costume was supposed to be the mostly white costume that Ike uses in the video with the self destructing land master, but it actually looks nothing like Marth's, who has always been shown in darker blue clothes.

However, some people have noticed that the white costume seems to be based on another lord from a Japanese Fire Emblem...

Fair enough. Subspace Emissary will probably be the way I go, too, since it is multiplayer after all. I already told my boss that I have to have three days off at least for it. Or I quit. He totally believes me too, which is awesome. I want to unlock everything as fast as I can. Heh.

That's pretty awesome. Personally I hope that all of these alternate costumes that are based on other characters end up being more fully fleshed out in the final release, ie. Peach has a true Daisy costume, Fox really looks like Wolf, Samus actually has the Fusion Suit, etc.

Kirby will be my first character. He was in SSBM, and I'm pretty sure he was in SSB--it was either him or Pikachu, anyway.


And first thing I do in the game is whatever it takes to unlock Jigglypuff. Then a branching path from there. If I was able to secure SSBB at a midnight launch and I didn't manage to get to sleep earlier in the day, I'll play some of practice matches, Event Matches (if those are still in), and Break the Targets. If I got it at a midnight launch and did sleep earlier in the day or I couldn't get it at midnight, I'll go through Subspace Emissary in one day.

If Sigurd was another swordsman (I have no idea, but I'm guessing that to be an Ike swap he'd have to be), I wouldn't have wanted him taking up a dedicated character slot anyway...

I don't know why you guys dislike Kystal that much. I know that shes a newer character, but all characters were like the once. She is more recogizable then some classic characters like Little Mac or Lucas.
At least she's diferent ( Yeah, I know she's a fox like Fox). I think she would make a decent addition to the cast. If not though, I could see her as a AT or at least a sticker.

We don't hate Krystal because she's new. Lucas is new and only people who hate freedom hate Lucas. The reason people hate Krystal is because she's a poorly designed character with almost zero personality. There are plenty of better characters who deserve a shot at Brawl than Krystal.

With the pointing out that Lyn is just a fictional character and extreme defensiveness towards Kyrstal you seem to be under the mindframe that Kyrstal is not a fictional character.

Dear God, you're incoherent when you're drunk.

I'd say Wolf or Peppy are better candidates for Brawl. Granted, Wolf could potentially end up as a Fox clone, but I think Sakurai could make a decent moveset for either of them. He made one for Captain Falcon and Ice Climbers, after all.

An even better idea would be to give Fox Krystal's staff (her one saving grace for Brawl) and give the Fox moveset to Wolf. Unfortunately, Sakurai's not going that way.

That's true, but it's seems like all new characters in the industry have the personality of cardboard, nowadays.
I sure there are other characters that are more deserving, but I don't think space will be that much of an issue this time. I'm pretty sure we're going to see a large cast this time around. If she's not in it, oh well, moving on...
