On a much more naive/optimistic note, maybe they chose the Nintendo DS logo because they intended to have the Ouendan characters with EBA swaps, but decided the two logos were irreconcilable. Actually, I'm not even sure what would have been used as a logo for either one individually in the first place...

Anyway, last thing I say before I leave for the night... This is probably going to be a main stage for me because of its simplicity, and the Wii Shop Channel music will be on for me almost all the time. Unless something better gets unlocked eventually--but I really like the Shop Channel music, and it's developed almost a kind of nostalgia for me since it's carried me through 41 VC downloads and counting. And on that note, off to sleep, then awaken to whatever new old stuff is on VC this time around.

I mean, based on this list, they divided the franchise into Smash64, Melee, and Brawl; so another category for something that doesn't fit the other categories makes sense. Plus DS is the first Nintendo System alphabetically.
