E3 2006: Fans Asked to Fill Smash Bros. Roster.
Nintendo of Japan launches online survey.
by IGN Staff
May 10, 2006 - Right along with the recently unveiled Smash Bros. Brawl trailer, a consumer survey of sorts went up on Nintendo of Japan's website. The poll is designed to give gamers a chance to help build the next chapter in one of the most anticipated franchises in Nintendo's arsenal. After clicking the bottom link on the opening page, a submission form is brought up, allowing fans to write in desired characters or music themes.
We can only imagine what kind of buzz this will cause for the gaming community overseas, as Nintendo has literally opened its mail box for suggestions. While it is only available to Japanese fans, we'll continue to hold our breath for Nintendo of America to release a similar poll here.
You can see the Japanese site by clicking right here.
Keep checking back at IGN Wii as more develops. We'll be sure to link you to the American version if and when Nintendo makes it available.

I am a huge Smash Bros. fan, and furthurmore a huge Nintendo fan. Smash Bros. 3 just became my number one most anticipated title until its release. Here are some cool ideas if you are taking them:
-Super Mario Bros. 3 airship as a playable level.
-An item can be Lakitu's cloud or Bowser's flying circus cart thing on propellers.
-Sonic and Tails as playable characters.
-8 Bit versions of the popular characters in the game (Mario, Link, etc.)
-Playable character: Ash Ketchum/Misty/Brock?
Thanks for taking my ideas into consideration, and I look forward to learning more about this game as information is revealed.
-Aaron

I don't think the designers in Japan are even aware of who Captain N is

I think that's Kirby's super move when he picks up that Smash Bros. logo item.PezRadar said:whats with mario and kirby cooking midway through the begining part of the movie.

Since it has the double-meaning of a big party and non-Nintendo characters are in it I think it fits pretty well.MasterAJ22 said:Do you guys like the suffix "Brawl?" I think Melee sounded more epic and mature.
Maybe that' just me?
The game looks fucking amazing otherwise though.
Isn't it just called Mike?Jiggy37 said:I think that's Kirby's super move when he picks up that Smash Bros. logo item.
Cook has been one of Kirby's kill-everything-on-screen one-use-only powers throughout the series. The others are Crash, which is boring because it just blows up the whole screen, and this microphone one that I forget the name of which is... interesting, but not as Kirby-ish as Cook.

if they're trustworthy, then we should all just leave this up to them, rather then spam a ton of people reading the responses that likely don't speak engish
