What's the deal? Nintendo underestimate the hype of their own game?

Anyone know anywhere else I can walk into to get this thing on release day? I'll even go so far as to preorder it now if I have to.

Yeah, it's been unavailable for preorder at my local Gamestop for months now

If you didn't preorder, you ain't getting it within a week of launch, possibly more

To be fair, that's the whole point of preorders for stuff like this.

It was obvious they weren't going to make hundreds of thousands of this bundles, so some stores likely put cut-off days to ensure everyone that preordered up until that point, gets one. Then they sell any remaining ones.

Yeah I had it on my Amazon to buy list for a while and slept on it too long. It went unavailable early in October. Checked my local GS and they said they're completely sold out of preorders for it. You're not going to be able to walk into a store and pick it up at launch anywhere.

I just wanna know if the Adapter will be available for separate purchase on release day. I can do without the controller.

I believe for those of you in the Inland Empire (SoCal) there's still bundles being sold at the murrieta best buy. pre ordered there not too long ago.

Kind of off topic but I've never pre-ordered anything off of Amazon before this bundle... Do games usually arrive the day of release day?

Not surprised, since its been the most anticipated Nintendo game in who knows how long. Mines paid off and waiting for me at gamestop. Or I'm waiting for it, a long ass wait indeed.

I already preordered off Amazon but thanks to living in Hawaii I won't get it day 1. Hopefully I can find one at BB and buy it with the Gamer's Club discount and then just return the Amazon one.

About a week ago I decided to finally preorder from Best Buy for in-store pickup. Luckily my local store still had it available. I was going to send the link to a friend and tell him to do it but when I looked again not even 15 minutes later it was unavailable. I got lucky.

usually but there's a 10% chance that it comes late because there's probably not enough workers to handle all the demand.

Have you asked your local Gamestop? They let me know that they are still taking pre-orders for it, even though I pre-ordered just the game and the adapter. I really don't need the new controller, because I already have 4-6 Gamecube controllers.

Yes, but their packing is horrendous which may lead to some damage on one of the edges of the game's box. And you're also going to want to consider the shipping company and their routes, because you might just get it later in the day.

I kind of wanted one, but I'm buying the game digitally. Want my Wii U dead silent and with faster loading (I hope).

Still got the adapter itself preordered at least.

I pre-ordered it at BB. Plus I have GCU, so it'll be around 80 dollars. Very happy with my responsibility in this case.

I preordered at Best Buy as well. I know bestbuy.com shows the $20 GCU discount, but is this the case in store as well? The associate seemed to think no because it was bundled with two accessories. Also, they didn't have an actual preorder card in store, so I had to preorder through their system. Either way, I've got the bundle preordered.

I missed it at BB too, but i got just the game there with my GCU and the Gamecube adaptor from Amazon with release day Prime shipping. I have 4 old Gamecube controllers to go along with my 3 Wii U Pro Controllers.

Just need the adaptor to get here by Saturday night.

if should work if they bring up your account. discount should apply then. if you preorder it may when you pick up the game unless you paid in full then? idk about that.

If you have Prime, yeah.

Oh sweet! I am an Amazon Prime member and buy things from them almost weekly, but this is the first time I preordered anything. I'm not really worried about the condition of the box as long as everything inside is intact lol.

The Smash Wii U + adapter (without controller since it's US only) is also out of stock on Amazon.fr
It was also really cheap (52€)

It's a GameStop/EB Games exclusive in Canada which really sucks. On top of that, it's not even listed on their website.

Hopefully a warehouse/supplier who cares more about getting things of their shelves and making money than stupid exclusivity deals gets their hands on it. Happened with Xenoblade Chronicles and a few other GameStop retail exclusives.
