Well, Tom Friedman says China is winning the green war.

Friedman is an idiot but he's right about this one, China does invest the most in green energy.
And it's not about who is going to have the best air, it's about who is going to supply the world with renewable energy technology, and thanks for the energy lobby and their friends in congress, it might not be the US (which looked like the heavy favorite until pretty damn recently).

Though as always with Friedman, his hysterical rhetoric is not fully justified.

The cancer deaths attributable to air pollution over the next few decades will be tragically high I suspect.

I think statistics already show that it's far healthier to be a smoker in any other country than it is to breathe the air in China.
