Smoking-Gaf: Camel Crush are pretty cool

So yeah it's a regular cigarette with a small menthol bead in the filter. Push on the filter, the ball bursts, then you got yourself a menthol cigarette! Picked up a pack today and they're pretty good. An interesting little cigarette. Kinda light for my taste, Turkish Golds are better. Still recommend them to anyone who's interested though. Anyone else try them?

I am a all the way Camel Light man. But, my GF smokes Marlboro Lights. But, the new Camel No. 9's she loves. i am waiting for these Crushes though. They sound pretty sweet.
 
bought a pack a few days ago in the middle of a drunken rampage. these things are not good news. i mean, i don't even like menthols.. the gas station clerk just somehow convinced me to buy them. cool novelty factor and all, but once was enough. popping a little bead of menthol juice into the filter? that shit probably gives you cancer 5000x quicker. HOWEVER, this is a new generation of cigarette technology. they could do a lot with the concept. get creative. give me chocolate crush, cinna crush, beef crush, etc. etc.

Well, they sell Winston cigarettes(do they have those over there?), but every time I'm forced to buy one, I always feel like paying to breathe.

Also, yeah, cool offer. That would be great. :)
 
Awesome looking box. If those were sold here about half of the box would be ruined with huge "CANCER KILLS" signs on them.

Yeah :( Recently in Poland there were Marlboro in that awesome metal case, and guess what? From front half of it was huge writing "CANCER KILLS" and from the back some crap about smoking being dangerous to pregnant women. Le sigh :(

Because normal ones tear up my throat like a bitch since I only smoke occasionally. Regular ones make me sick after a couple where lights don't.

Yeah that was the test for these to see if they worked out well enough. I think Kool is owned by RJ Reynolds.

Depends where you work... Anyways, I'm surprised how many people here on gaf talk about cigarettes like it's a great thing. Personally, I wish I never picked up smoking...

I agree with this! I don't smoke cigarettes, but when I do it's usually unfiltered camels or lucky strikes just like in the old days! :D
they taste better too
 
I've never smoked before so I'm intrigued. Is smoking actually enjoyable and if so how? I use weed because it's enjoyable but it appears as if cigarette users only do it because they're addicted and don't really get any enjoyment out of them.
 
I work in a gas station in Orange County CA and those Crush have been selling like crazy in the last two weeks. Seems like a lot of the trendy kids who smoke the 27s and Parlaiments are trying them out. Camel might have a rare hit on their hands.

Snus on the other hand seems to be D.O.A. I think Snus is a more intriguing product so hopeufully Camel is in it for the duration and attempts to build a loyal following.

Menthol is the only category that is up year-on-year. Even Marlboro Smooths are consistent sellers.

Btw, I don't smoke but I enjoy selling them.

They contain stimulants, relaxants and depressants in the hodgepodge of chemicals produced by burning the tobacco. This, combined with reduced oxygen inhalation, causes a mellowing effect by bombarding your brain with whatever it currently lacks, effectively over-stimulating it into equilibrium. This is where the primary dependence comes from, your brain creates extra receptors for these types of chemical responses and freaks out when they aren't filled as normal, causing quitters to behave semi-erratically to the point where they can't be comfortable mentally without one. This usually passes completely within 1-3 months as your brain chemistry re-adjusts and your body is purged of latent nicotine deposits. But in times of large stress, unless you have developed a strong set of coping skills while you've quit, your brain will always default to the cigarette as your first choice to relieve the tension.
I quit for 3 months, was very happy about that... but one week, I was so stressed and angry that I wanted to die... so you can only guess what I reached for. And in spite of the headaches and chest pain, it's still better than feeling like an angry shitheaded malcontent because life sucks and I don't know how to deal with it.

A friend of mine tried some American snus, and said it was like they just put some tobacco leaves in a small bag. "Total failure when compared to the Swedish brands".
 
FSC fucked up my American Spirit lights in IL. I'm in WI for the semester, so I'm gonna see if that shit is here yet.
 
I'd be interested in a GAF cigarette swap.
 
I feel like its a gimmick, and it seems to be working great for them so far.

The only time I would probably want these is at a rave.
 
i didn't know these were out already. i saw a 'coming soon' ad for them and didnt understand what it was - so you crush the filter and smoke comes out, what? but now i understand. i'm going to pick up a pack today. i'm not much of a smoker but a enjoy a hit of the cancer stick every now and then.
