I got this email from two of my friends just recently:

Hi Adam,

I reserved you a free SMS.ac account-- now you can send free text (SMS) messages to mobile
phones.

All you need to do is click on the link to complete your sign-up. Don't worry it's quick. :).

If you are already a member, click on the link and sign-in. As soon as you sign-in, you and I
will be automatically placed in each other's "friends" list and address books.

Let's catch up using text (SMS) messages!

Thanks,
Angie

Upon signing up, it asked for my yahoo account and yahoo password, so I assumed it was some sort of scam. Anyone hear about this?

just about all of my friends have sent me the same thing

IIRC, there's a line in the ToS that mentions advertisements. My friends say they don't get them, though....

I signed up, then they charged me 50p per message for cunts I don't know to send me stupid chat texts.

I spent £3.00 in about a minute, without doing a thing. What utter crap. Avoid.

I signed up for SMS but I only know a few people who use it.

You can avoid paying anything if you're careful like me.
