I believe Kinder Surprise isn't available in the States.

Actually they are, just in 'euopean' food stores. The chocolate is delicious, though I always end up with the crappy toys :(

And French fries are good with Ketchup, Mayo, Ranch Dressing, Gravy, or Cheese. I've always wanted to try Poutine, although the cheese they use looks like it would make me gag.

Nestlé Magic Ball was basically this in the US till it was discontinued.

It was then changed to Nestlé Wonder Ball. Instead of a toy it had candy pieces and a sticker inside.

Up until a couple of years ago the US didn't have cherry flavored PEZ. It had been discontinued for many years in the US but available in Canada and Europe.

I wanted to say that I love the idea of Heinz Ketchup flavored potato chips. Thoses ones that you posted Valis look awesome.

Gravy + Cheese + Fries sounds great. Similar to Chili + Cheese + Fries which is AWESOME.

Those pictures look FUCKING DISGUSTING though. Is it cold gravy and cheese? Why is the cheese not melted? Why is it in huge chunks that look like butter to me.
Gravy is warm, cheese is usually cold (gravy warms it up anyways)

some places use mozzarella, others use cheese curds.

We have an entire Hockey team dedicated to Timbits, and freaking Sidney Crosby was on that fucking team!

Yea we have those in America, they're just called Dunkin Munchkins (for people who have Dunkin Donuts)

wow, no ketchup chips in states. You guys have no idea what you are missing.

your name frightens me, because it's the same screenname my girlfriend uses, my heart skips a beat whenever I see your screen name pop up in a thread I'm posting in... God knows what she'd think of my GAF postings, lol.

Try Sobeys, they have them at the one in the park.

Hmm. There's a few Sobeys around here, so I'll try those first. I don't think I'm going all the way to the Park just for cookies! :lol

Yes

I live right by Frito Lay HQ and Cadbury/Dr. Pepper HQ so I get so much test crap :lol and things that others don't get some times.

Break some legs until they agree to bring these back:

Lay's chips are god's gift to us Canadians.
Ever since they changed to the new taste formula they've been shit. It's like eating oily chemicals and the chips seem softer than they used to be. I've turned to Old dutch as a result.

There are a lot of Tim Hortons in the US, they were all over Buffalo (where I saw very few, if any, Dunkin Donuts - one of the biggest culture shocks for someone from the tri-state area where DD is on every other corner) and probably a lot of the other border regions.

Agreed, Old Dutch Dill Pickle is a godsend.

Are these available in the US? I feel sorry for you guys if they aren't. Sea Salt & Malt Vinegar = awesome. I figure they've gotta be sold some place in the States.

We have these in Indianapolis.

I went to school in the middle of nowhere here in IN and we had bagged milk at lunch from elementary school up through high school. Everyone thinks I'm insane when I tell them about it. There is an ice cream shop in Shelbyville (Compton's Cow Palace) that used to sell milk in bags, but I haven't been there in years, so I don't know if they still have that or not.

As for ketchup chips, I had never heard of such a thing until last week when I was grabbing a Payday out of the vending machine before my Econometrics class and saw this:

I guess I need to try some.

I still can't get over 'Freezies'. They'll always be Otter Pops to me. :lol

P.S. Yes, I know I did this backwards.

Otter Pops must be a regional US thing, because my wife, who grew up in Nebraska, had never heard of them before.

Aero Bars aren't made in the US, but Cost Plus World Market and a few local drug stores in the Seattle area sell them. Mint Aero Bars are awesome.

The Mars Bar is called Milky Way in the US.

Isn't a Mars bar a Mars bar in the US??? I see them all the time in Miami, Zero bars too those are pretty good

Don't hate on ketchup chips until you try them! I believe the reason is the red ink they use is banned in the USA. I could be wrong.

Ah basically every Canadian kid plays Tim Bits Hockey. They sponsor pretty much every team.

Really? So.. Ketchup chips are toxicly delicious?

I'm still shocked the US doesn't have All Dressed. It seems like an American thing, "just put a bunch of flavor powder on them and see how it tastes". I tell you how it tastes, barbeque-vinegary with sweetness. I don't know how else to describe them.

I remember buying a Unnamed Doritos bag (You were supposed to taste it and come up with a name yourself) and it tasted just like Ketchup. Horrible.

edit: here it is

I remember a seeing a picture with all these explained, but I think it went a bit like this:
the european Mars Bar is american Milky Way, european Milky Way is american 3 Musketeers. If they sell Mars Bars in the US it's probably something else. Maybe a Snickers? That would be pretty consistent with the bigger picture.

Oh my god!! I bought these as I came back through Orlando Airport the other day. Probably the best crisps (I refuse to call them chips) that we tried in the US.

During our time there, my girlfriend struggled with your limited choice of Lay's flavours. Over in the UK, the exact same crisps are called Walkers and our flavours are: Cheese & Onion, Roast Chicken, Prawn Cocktail, Pickled Onion, Smoky Bacon, Chilli & Lemon, Marmite (!!!), Steak & Onion, Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Cheddar Cheese, Cajun Spice, Worcester Sauce and good old Ready Salted.

Also, regarding Kinder Egg's: If you get a toy you don't actually build yourself, you may as well just throw the chocolate egg away as your day is ruined.

The first time I went to the states, I couldn't believe how different the junk food selection is and how many of the things available in both Canada and the USA tasted completely different.

Canadian Coca-Cola is the nectar of the gods.
