Layers to the fact that the black jeopardy sketch thread is turning into a thread about an unrelated sketch

It's not a conspiracy. The OP said it was the best sketch of the night, I and a couple of others made a post in jest saying differently. The Black Jeopardy sketch is very good. Nobody is trying to take the spotlight away from it.

I mean, it's not a widespread thing in the black community, just like it's not a widespread thing in the white community, but it is most certainly there.

Yeah, but it's not a common stereotype for black people is what I'm getting at.

Yeah, but it's not a common stereotype for black people is what I'm getting at.
I've seen it enough Times among family and work to say that its common enough, my cousins were practically obsessed with illuminati for at least 2 years

Also, I don't get the love for this Jeopardy sketch either. I mean, yes it's pretty funny, i agree (infinitely moreso than that stupid David Pumpkins sketch), but I don't get some of the jokes. Is there a stereotype that exists about black people thinking fluoride in water is a sinister government conspiracy?

Head to any black forum or social media platform and you will find people talking about the "illuminati".

Yeah, but it's not a common stereotype for black people is what I'm getting at.

It's common enough. I mean there was a common theory that Jay Z and Roc-a-Fella records were illuminati due to the name and the diamond hand symbol.

I mean not every reference they make in the Black Jeopardy sketches are completely universal but even that was somewhat poked at in the sketch where Drake guest starred.

It's a great sketch and all of it hinges on that last "____ Lives Matter" joke. Without it, the joke doesn't sting, without it, the sketch is entirely irrelevant.

David S. Pumpkins is amazing. It's just such a non-sequitur, I adore it. Just kept laughing.

That and the Black Jeopardy segment were top-tier SNL material. Best it's been in ages.

Tom Hanks really is a national treasure.

Man, I love Keenan. He's so solid in every sketch, even though he's always kinda always in the same energy/character.

I don't see him branching out into other stuff much. After, what, 13 seasons of solid work?

Nah he can easily transition in a sitcom. Fat husband with a hot wife.

They also reference the Illuminati at the end of the Elizabeth Banks one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX7rliyPF48

I love the David S pumpking sketch but black jeopardy was a stroke of genius and it showed how stupid racism really is
Opposite kind of humor. Pumpkins is stupid kind of humor(still made me laugh) and jeopardy was done intelligent social satire. I enjoyed both but for very different reasons

i cried laughing to david s pumpkins.....reminded me of larry david in snl sketch: fbi simulator

David S Pumpkins and Kevin Roberts are the best things outta SNL for the last 5 years probably.

"Can a bitch get a donut?"

"Yo did that guy just say "can a bitch get a donut"?"

No one is watching a Keenan sitcom because it's Keenan. Which means that someone would then have to make a sitcom and decide that Keenan was the best choice as the husband, which isn't happening either.

They would if it were a Kenan and Kel sequel a la Girl Meets World, I bet, but otherwise, yeah, Kenan ain't good or funny enough to go anywhere else.

After hearing that Michael Che co-wrote this sketch, I'm now wondering: did he get the idea for it by meeting a bunch of Trump supporters at the RNC back when him and Colin did that field trip? The field trip itself was just alright, but maybe the funniest thing to come out of it was the idea for this sketch.

After the handshake you can see Shanice break character...

Part of the genius of the David S Pumpkins sketch is the music. They didn't just write some funny jokes, someone actually composed that masterpiece for the sketch.

I disagree.

DSPs was funny because it was absurd and made no sense. It was like, comedy. It was so stupid it was funny. It was solid twaddle.

Reminded me of something I would have seen in space ghost.
