Snow? In Georgia? In March?

My grandmother called from Columbus to tell me it was snowing there. I live in Savannah. No snow yet, but the weatherman says tonight, probably.

We don't get snow in Savannah, GA. It's called Savannah for a reason.

The end times are upon us.

Yes, its a miracle. Its been a long fucking time since I've seen this much snow. It looks really nice outside right now.

I've noticed a handful of people that live in Atlanta on here. This topic makes that pretty obvious I guess.

Also State > Tech.

How'd you come to that conclusion? At least Tech is an actual college campus, can you say the same for Georgia State? =D

Funny, an hour ago, it looked like it was just about to stop, now it's snowing just as hard as it was 3 hours ago.

EDIT: And now we've got a good bit of wind.

Excited about the snow here in Va. too; this is the most snow we've had all season. But can't say I ever remember it snowing as late as March before. The flakes are huge!

yeah it snowed last night in AR (Little Rock), all gone now though. The day before I was wearing shorts.

Yeah I'm in Marietta and it's awesome! If it holds for a few more hours we're going sledding up at KSU. Also, my family down in Albany said it snowed there for like 2 minutes. Crazy times!

I want this shit to stop. I work at a hospital in Clayton Co. and the thought of having to stay here cuz' of snow is repulsive.

when i was down at tech, my freshman year (feb 2004) we got like 2 inches of snow and the entire city freaked out and shut down for the day, people outside, etc. 2 inches.

oh how i miss atlanta sometimes.

Well, it's happened before in March, albeit 1993 when we had the only "blizzard" I can remember in Atlanta, 16 inches (F U northerners, 16 inches in ATL is like 20 feet in most cities)

That's how it is in the South, snow is serious business. All the snow we've gotten in the past year has been on weekends though, so it hasn't been too bad. I'd probably still be going to classes even if it was a weekday. The only things that can cause classes to be cancelled at Tech is the end of the world and chemical leaks.

Georgia Tech.

Hey fellow Techie. I was actually planning to come up that way today but passed on it since GA isn't known for having a surplus of salt and sand trucks.

Hopefully that BURN will keep him warm through the snowstorm!

I came to that conclusion because I couldn't get into Tech.

Ditto here in Maryland. We all thought it was pretty strange.

I just drove back to Atlanta from visiting family in south GA, an hour south of Columbus (Richland GA). I have no idea when the last time it snowed down there and actually stuck. It was mind blowing.

This is driving through Columbus:

Hoooooly crap, I've never seen it snow this much in NC. I look outside and it's almost a blizzard, already several inches on the ground.

Just starting to snow here in NYC. Winter storm warnings say it'll be 8-12 inches when it's done. We'll see.

I'm in Gaithersburg, MD, and I can recall many late snowfalls like this. A couple of weeks ago it was in the 60s and my daughter was sad that winter was over. I guaranteed her we would have snow again in March.

Yeah I live in Sandy Springs. Kinda weird. Glad it's cleared up though, I was afraid classes would be canceled tomorrow.

I remember the good old days when people hoped that classes WOULD be canceled.

Was suppose to get a good bit of snow in Columbia, SC. Now it's just a coating. Well, fuck. I was hoping for canceled school tomorrow, or at least a delay. Oh well.

:( *goes back to studying*

I can't tell if the global warming posts are sarcastic or not, given that all the weird weather is likely climate change related. Damn you GAF!

Macon here.

Saw the report about it possibly coming down two days ago and made bets with friends that it would snow. Twas a wonderful sight to wake up too. :lol

Here's Mercer, in the middle of the snowstorm:

And our wonderful snowman :lol :

Southeast Virginia here. Light dusting around the area but remarkably has been falling all day (just not sticking). I got so pissed when I drove into work with my clean car only to see all my co-workers' vehicles completely covered with the stuff. It's like these storms go east to Richmond, say "fuck it" and either evaporate or turn to rain by the time they get here.

Damn lots of gaffers from georgia, GA gaf represent.

Yeah it snowed pretty bad here yesterday, north gwinnett, but it was really nice looking.

My sister said it was snowing a little in Atlanta last night and seeing these pics confirm to me that it may be more than just a little bit of snow going on up there. I was planning on staying with her for spring break but with this snow I'm really not sure.

May not been snow but it sure was windy as hell in Orlando on Sunday.
