Snowboard Kids 2 is the sequel to the already amazing Snowboard Kids. Both games were Nintendo 64 classics that can be best described as snowboarding versions of Mario Kart. What Atlus / Racdym were able to accomplish was combining a fun multiplayer like experience with tight game play and an amazing soundtrack.

My friend rented that game and kept it for like a month. I think that means he liked it.

I should play it sometime.

Only released in Australia for PAL systems I believe, one of those super expensive games. ($250 cartridge only, CIB is anywhere from $500 to well above the thousands)

I love these games never owned a copy of 2 but played the hell of it, really should get that at some point but last I checked the price was astronomically high.

I couldn't get any of my friends to even give this a chance :(. They only played Mario Kart or CTR .

This game is wonderful. I loved the art, unlockables, the story mode, and the music was great too. I wish we would get a sequel in the original style, but it doesn't seem like we'll get a new game. Even a port of the SBK2 with online would be enough for me

I played the first game like 2 months ago and I thought it held up fine... are you specifically talking about the multiplayer or what part of it exactly?

The mechanics of the second game holds up much better than the first, but otherwise I'm not sure what he means.

Watching the vids, I don't see the appeal. Even for the time, 1080 was more my speed (and ran at a clip better than 14 fps). To each their own. I guess you had to be a kid at the time, and not already into late teens.

I play it to this day, via emulator.

I got my roommate into it and we'll have some pretty competitive matches. It's like tradition with us, now. The game is timeless, and the music is so good!

I'll probably play it later tonight.

It's a lot more fun when you're playing it along with three other people.

Yes it is. And unfortunately for me as a collector it's one of the most expensive and rare games on the n64 so I still don't own it :(

One of the most expensive games of the N64 in PAL region, with StarCraft 64. Both only got released in Australia, that's why.

So I never got the chance to try it :(

Loveeeed this and the first game. Never had an N64, but my friend did, and I played it so many times with him. Wish they had release a ps1 version like the first game.

That DS game....oooooof

Snowboard kids was the shit. Never played the sequel but have tons of good memories of playing the first one with my cousins.

How is 2 in terms of difficulty? I played 1 recently and found it frustratingly hard, everyone is way faster than me even when I'm using a fast character like Linda with the alpine board.

Damn that soundtrack is tight. This was one that I missed at the time just because I was playing tons of other games on the n64 instead, so I think I'll have to give this a go.

Snowboard Kids 1 & 2 were fantastic. It was basically Mario Kart on snow with an extremely catchy soundtrack.

I really wish Atlus would stop messing around with these Persona games and find the time to re-release Snowboard Kids 1 & 2 on the Virtual Console. Snowboard Kids 2 never made it the UK so my only experience with it is via emulator.

Its a snowboarding game + a kart racer. So not like 1080 at all.

Still love both games on the N64. I'll go back to them from time to time, especially if other friends wanna play. As mentioned above, the music is also amazing (that Snowman/Dinosaur song).

Bless you OP, because here is the honest truth : Snowboard Kids was the greatest racer - kart or otherwise - on the Nintendo 64. The music was the best, the items are fun, the graphics/aesthetics are better than the competition, and the one thing that no one mentioned yet was the SKI LIFT. Oh my God it's so fun to be neck and neck with other players gunning for the lift. Or just watching Tommy hit the wall.

ALLLLLL AROUNNDDDDDD

The only things the first Snowboard Kids had over the sequel are the special tricks. I doubt even know the first game had them until 10 years later. I wish they had stuck around for 2, it could have given the game a bit more depth.

For anyone like myself who is going to try it out now, having missed it before, and I doubt I'll get a friend to play it with me at this point, is the single player content any good? (For both games)
