Snowden took literally everything when he left. Shit is getting real.

am i to believe the only reason he hasn't released 100% of it is to protect himself?

Possibly he doesn't want to release a lot of it. He seems like he's mostly releasing stuff that relates to unconstitutional practices by the USA, I'm sure the files have operational information that while sensitive, is perfectly legal.

The USA is playing chicken here, hoping Snowden won't release everything everything, but knows that he's using the threat of doing so as leverage.

I don't think I'm going to trust what an anonymous source told Tucker Carlson's site about Edward Snowden.

He needed to bargain something to get a state to provide asylum protection. To get that as a defector you have to sell out basically everyone you ever knew and provide your new host with penetrations they can play back. Look at Howard or Philby or for effect Ames. We won't know how many icey graves Snowden filled with turned Russians or Chinese officials for about ten to twenty years.

Does he have the Pentagod documents?

Really NSA? You want me to believe you're so incompetent that one of your contractors could get in and steal all the data you have? Hell, I've worked for companies that wouldn't let you leave without a contact list

I bet it's a bunch of mundane shit that will be embarrassing but ultimately no one will care about. That's how these leaks almost always go. It's going to be more Abu Ghraibs, or more black sites, or more torture, or surveillance. I.e. stuff we already know about and apparently don't care much about.
Yep, I think so. I'm sorry but it is getting a bit tiresome, it all goes quiet but then every once in a while we hear oh he has loooooaddds more info. Can't release it though, its just for insurance. But it's reaaaaalllly interesting, honest!

How in the fuck was he allowed to access everything, if this happens to be true? Regardless of what he has, if this is true then that's the real fucking story.

Sorta like a girlfriend who breaks up with you in stealth. You come home from work to your apartment and find all her stuff gone and half of your shit missing; including the baking soda box in the back of the fridge.

Not speaking from experience. <.<

Someone who knows of baking soda theft does not speak of it unless they've experienced it.

This is what happens when you fuck your citizens. I was hoping for something like this would happen for a while. I'm glad it happened. Good man.

And if this "everything" does include information that might actually compromise national security?

That's the least of their concern. Imagine if your enemies knew who you had embedded all over the world, how you collect your data, the extent of that collection, everything you do behind-the-scenes...really everything about you. The extent of the damage would be nuts.
Seriously. As wrong as the NSA spying on US citizens is the idea of complete and total government transparency just doesn't make sense as long as, well, there are any foreign powers with an interest in undermining the US.

I don't understand his plan. He steals all these secrets and "is holding it at ransom for his own protection", which to me means it gets released if anything happens to him. And then he moves to Russia, which in no way has a vested interest in him having an unfortunate accident and leaking tons of information about American intelligence capabilities.

The damage is done. Snowden gave Russia/China and the keystone cops of journalists the keys to the castle.

I'm getting really fucking sick of these guys that claim they have massive leaks but don't put it all out. This is just WikiLeaks all over again, remember that leak that would bring down corporate banking? How about the one that would shake the foundations of the US Government? Neither do I because they NEVER FUCKING RELEASED IT.

Lol, like what?

You've been playing a lot of call of doogie if you think any army is going to invade the U.S.

Actually I've argued at length before about how an armed invasion of the US is basically impossible. What, you think the only way nations engage in antagonistic behavior is with armies?

Unfortunately it's likely to be encrypted to hell and back
the key is probably 123456789
and would take years to parse through all of it to figure out what is worthy of publishing. But i'd love to see it published anyhow.

We never did get the key to that Wikileaks file.
