Very true. The Red Line is a better subject for conversations, though!

I wonder how miserable the Red Line is going to be today. Especially from like 2 PM on.

Oklahoma governor declared a state of emergency yesterday. They closed the local schools last night before I went to bed. So far I've only gotten 3-4 inches of snow, but the wind is gusting over 50 mph. Temperature is 8 degrees outside with a windchill of 20 below zero.
Wasn't awful getting to work at 6:30 this morning, but the road did get hard to see a few times.

No big snowfalls here (Columbus OH), but was treated to a nice fine later of .10 inch ice all over everything. I went to put mail in my mailbox this morning and stopped walking about halfway down the driveway...still got to the mailbox in normal time if that tells you anything.

Took the day off!

Used to live in Arlington Heights growing up, but I'm in Indianapolis now. We're still Pika Bros though. :)

No way! Same here! Well.. BG but I moved to Arlington Heights when I was still pretty young. You didn't go to Hersey did you?

fake edit: just got a call/text saying classes are canceled after 1pm today and all tomorrow. I did that paper for nothing... fuuuuuuuuu

Actually, I did for two years, then moved after my sophomore year (moved in 99, would have graduated 2001). Olive -> Thomas -> Hersey.

Checked online and it looks like DePaul is closing early. All classes after 1:00 are canceled. Now to stop studying and just stay in bed all day. :)

Lawton, Okla. is completely shut down. I can't even tell if it's still snowing or not because the wind is blowing so damn hard. I can't see the house across the street. That's bad. The paper called me and tried to get me to come in to help cover this shit, but there's no way I can even get my car out of the driveway, especially when two power trucks are stuck outside trying to dig their way out.

Haha, I was getting my trash cans yesterday and didn't realize how icy it was. I didn't actually fall, but I'm sure it looked hilarious to any random onlookers. LOL

It's getting pretty hairy. The roads are shitty. It'll get worse.

At work here and our distribution center was just informed that Fedex is pulling there trucks off the road starting at noon. I'd never heard of that before, I assumed they had snowmobiles and sleds pulled by huskies for when the weather got bad enough.

I have the next two days off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also got my workout for the day in. A 45 minute walk in snow and ice with a pulling ass Siberian Husky.

Fed Ex better get me my phone today. But the roads out here are dry for now.

Man, plows get to the roads, and then about 10 minutes later you can't even tell they ever were.

Seems like the snow is getting ready to end down here in the OKC area. Can't tell how much due to all the drifting going on.

I did this dance with my car door last night. I summoned some ninja skills to keep my balance. I wish someone WOULD have seen it, because they would have been in awe at my mastery of gravity.

Holy crap only two people moved their cars for plowing today. I realize its mostly seniors and disabled but they have never been this lazy. Only going to add to the mess tomorrow. Trying to dig a path to everyone vehicle every few hours today. With my MS I cant navigate big drifts, tonight and tomorrow is going suck as it catch 22 you have to move all cars for the plow to come yet you cant get to the cars without shoveling and then you have to clean all stuff that blocks you on road to get back to lot. What cracks me up is the young people with no psychical disability and all that free time complaining the most that someone should clean around their cars.

Same here -- FedEx and UPS. Crazy!

Norman, OK here... god damn, so much snow. I actually have snow in my living room. I guess there's an extremely tiny crack, and the wind must have been pounding snow up against my door all night and it just piled up along the bottom of the door and the wall around it. Never seen that before. Don't know how much snow we got but it looks like 9" when I opened my door. There's been a lot of wind though, so I'm not really sure how it's getting distributed.

Only about 3-4 inches here in Northwest Arkansas.

The real fun part is the half inch to inch of ice on the roads underneath it all. And we won't see temperatures into the 20s until Thursday I think.

Looking at Oklahoma it looks like we're still going to get a little more snow too!

i am so beyond glad the storm tracked north. on friday the inch of ice was supposed to hit kentucky today, instead it hit north of the ohio river.

so, so, so beyond glad.

Looks like it's sleeting pretty damn hard here in St. Louis, and a good amount of snow came last night. Doesn't look apocalyptic or anything, but I'm glad I don't have to go to class.

About to get pounded here in Wisconsin, I'll be shoveling shortly and then again this evening and tomorrow morning as well. A possible 9-16 inches this evening is what I heard.

That's awesome. I went Kilmer > Thomas > BG.... now at DePaul. Classes got canceled.. time to chill out for once haha

Just got off work early, they just gave us the option. Finally home and gonna bust out some video games in between furious snow shoveling...lol

UWM still hasn't given the word. Which is awesome, since I work at the food court in the morning and tomorrow's the only day I don't have evening classes (which is probably all we'll get).
They better cancel Wednesday.

Nevermind, they just canceled Wednesday classes. That means I'll also be canceling my discussion sections on Thursday. Fuck yeah.

They should shoot out heated salt in the roads. Problem solved

And then if the temperature drops low enough, it will just freeze again.

So I actually went to work today, but I was sent home after 2 hours. Tomorrow I wont even go in, there's no point because I have to use vacation time to make-up the hours missed. And that's if they fucking let me. I already have to use one vacation day, tomorrow is going to be #2 for sure.

There are alos tornado warnings.

Ice tornadoes. Wow.

Yep. It's very scary when that happens, because you are going to have people seeking shelter on shit roads if they don't have a basement.

NW Oklahoma City, Hot tub casualty. If the wind wasn't blowing so bad I would attempt to rescue it and have some adult beverages while soaking tonight.
