I'm in Omaha, NE. We are on the north side of the system and it's snowing at a decent clip right now. Yesterday we got about 1/4 of an inch of unexpected freezing rain. The wind is starting to pick up, which is causing massive snowdrifts. The roads are pretty bad too. Of course my school is literally the only school (out of elementary, high school and college) that hasn't closed.

Yeah, I was there at the time, too. I think it was my Junior year. It was awesome. Green street was completely snowed in. I used to work at the Gamestop there and I couldn't even enter the door to go into work.

I swear if you told me everyone in Wisconsin came to the store yesterday I'd believe it, and I'd not know where the hell the people from today came from. Also angry that a different grocery store chain that I thought was more evil than the one I work for is closing early tonight and not open tomorrow, but we're open tomorrow. I don't have to go in, but my wife does and I'll have to drive her there because she hasn't really ever driven in snow.

Work got let out early and canceled for tomorrow. My commute home was crowded but not too horrible. Walking back to my apartment from the Berwyn Red Line stop was pretty intense though. I'm glad I was walking with the wind at my back, because if you're walking East towards the lake and into the wind, God help you. I got to Clark street, and in the three blocks to my apartment I saw:

Two different people on bikes in the street.

A guy on a bike on the sidewalk.

A guy walking around in shorts.

In conclusion, there is no hope for humanity and I welcome the cleansing snowpocalypse.
