Could be, but I think personally it's getting a bit excessive. I'm also as I said bothered that we didn't do it for past mods, why single Amir0x out? The point should have been made when Evilore removed him.

Boohoo.

It's excessive because of both how it went down, and because so many people finally have a chance to air out their grievances without fear of him doing anything. I suspect things will calm down by the afternoon.

Amirox was fun on some subjects but when he was in trolling mode he was the biggest troll that ever trolled. I think it was the banjo Kazooie announcement thread he went on a trolling spree.

Also wasn't there a thread where he almost punched his mother because she wouldn't let hom watch TV and even the other red names laid into him over it.

edit: yep,

What I never get is why so many of us common folks seem to get off on anything mod related?

Schadenfreude. Works especially well when it's someone in a position of authority over you.

I'm sure that's probably the case because my guess is Evilore won't keep the thread going all that long. Though since he's probably asleep right now it will continue for a bit.

Yep, Crushed stood up to him and got permabanned.

We should bring back Crushed now.

I think a thread like this will get it out of everyone's system and people will move on shortly thereafter.

Exactly. People have obviously been simmering with resentment and bitterness towards him. The smart thing to do is to let it all out so it starts and stops here and doesn't need to continue.

Because he is a notorious loudmouth who deserves his cummuffins, at least for a day or two? A little hazing while he rejoins the general population of GAF can't hurt that much. Besides, isn't brutal honesty pretty much his whole guiding ethos?

I suppose. Like I said, just my view. I presume if Evilore feels it's out of line he'll say something, if he doesn't he won't.

What the fuck are cum-muffins?! Are they sort of related to comeuppance?

Amirox was way too aggressive when discussing things he disagreed with. Calling opinions he disagreed with lies and hurling various insults was not promoting healthy discussion on this board.

I've seen fantastic posts from him, usually detailing things he likes about certain games, but when he disagrees with something, the whole thread takes a turn for the worse.

I guess a lot of people are hurt/pissed off/annoyed by what he said and never had the chance to say what they really want to say up till now. This is why it's always a good idea to consider what you say because words CAN hurt and karma has a way of coming back to haunt you. That's my experience and what I observe in daily life anyway.

Personally, I have problem with how he trolled every Heavy Rain thread with a statement about how much he hates it. I get that he hates the game but stating it once is enough. Let those who likes it enjoy the game without being told how much their favorite game sucks and those who likes it are subhumans with no good taste. Apart from that, I don't really have much of a problem with him. I often see him in other threads and while I agree with some of his opinions, the way he delivered them lead us to where we are now.

Gaborn 2012 if for no other reason than to ban the news loathers.

:-P I seriously doubt I'd be considered for a mod role but if by some miracle that was to happen I wouldn't do that.

Replicant - sure, but the same could certainly have been said of Dragona or Red Scarlet, people HATED the way they moderated threads about for example women drivers. Everyone has grudges against SOMEONE.

He's like, the secret final boss that they didn't tell you about. Everyone thinks its gonna be Bish, but then there is the endgame twist and it is actually Evilore.

Well, sure. You could be all "technically accurate", or you could be lazy and go with whatever urban dictionary spits out during a hasty google search. It's like, personal preference or something.

*saves face*

It's good to know he has your authority on the matter.

I'm pretty sure standard english usage would suggest my post did not imply I'm pompous enough to think I have the authority to tell Evilore ANYTHING of the sort.

Crunched - I meant the responses in this thread.

from urbandic

1.cummuffins
Colloquial term for someone who has done something bad in the past and now the bad karma is catching up with them and punishing them. The punishment one recieves when they are 'getting their cummuffins' are as bad or worse as having to eat a muffin that has been ejaculated on.
More severe and graphic version of come-uppins.

Adam: Why is Joe getting repeatedly kicked in the nuts by that guy?
Bill: Because he stole that guy's girlfriend, now he's getting his cummuffins.

Sad to see him go, since I never had any personal grievances with him. If it had to happen, it had to happen, but damn if that didn't just self-destruct.

Also, people coming out of woodworks like crazy for this. I wonder what's gonna happen if
maybe when another Mod get's..de-modded
.

I can say this though, GAF sure does like to kick a man once he's down. =/

Pretty sure out of all the mods here, Ami is the only one most had a problem with. Everyone else is great, often posting with excellent insight and acting fairly toward other members.

Ami was the hyperactive ADHD child of the bunch.

Amir was a good mod. Maybe clashed with him on discussions but I've never seen it affect his moderation.

Pretty much all the mods now are chill. Can't imagine any of them getting a roasting.

This. There is a reason people are piling up on him and thats because he has been a douche to so many people. People didn't gang up (if you want to call it that) on other mods who lost their positions because they didn't act this way.

Yup. People do come crawling out of the woodwork to sling mud due to feeling butt hurt about bannings.

He's still around, he's just no mod anymore. I have to give him huge props for being pretty chill about it around pg 17 of the thread.

I'm still scared of him though. D:

whenever i see someone get banned, gaf tends to notice and unless they did something really dumb, hopes that they will be unbanned soon. first time i'm seeing this sort of stuff

they just aren't afraid of saying he was a hothead now for fear of being unjustly banned.

Did he really ban people for calling him a hothead, though? Maybe I just don't pay attention or read the right threads but I've never seen that...

I think i said this somewhere on the internet, but sometimes Amirox had some agreeable opinions, but he was so awful at expressing them. He was very brutish. I do think he took advantage of the status of being a mod, calling people liars/trolls and warning that they're derailing the thread. It definitely made discussion in this forum worse.

In conclusion, can someone make a t-shirt about this so we can sell it on the neo-GAF store?

It doesn't even necessarily need to be about bans. In my short tenure here, I never even got in a direct clash with him. Though in my time lurking I had seen enough inflammatory remarks on his part to believe that he shouldn't get a finger on the ban button.

Perhaps not for calling him hotheaded, but I can't imagine people being willing to just state "you're being a troll" to many of his over inflated statements.

GrotesqueBeauty said:
If you pretend you don't care deeply about this development you are a liar. FACT. This isn't really even disputable unless you are trolling. It's scientifically proven in various studies which prove me right (as usual). Now if you'll excuse me there are other threads where I need to go spread around my gift for inspiring great conversations and generally correct people who don't mirror my opinions.

I never use lol, but dude, LOL.

Let's be honest now, people fervently replying to every one of his posts only served to fuel the trolling spree.

Whenever he said "X thing was the worst thing ever and I don't understand how any rational person could enjoy this," why is there a need to reply to that? I do believe he never came into a thread and started singling people out either; he posted something of his own and, unfailingly, a mass of replies would arrive. Yes, he tended to make some real shitty posts, but I don't see how it warranted a deluge of people wanting so very much to prove him wrong, especially knowing the chain reaction it would cause. Scrolling and ignoring is the easiest and most efficient way to make a troll stop, and it's such a damn easy thing to do.

Not before you get one :lol

i wish he could be retroactively banned for all the blatant trolling and thread derailing he's done over the years.

but i now look forward to this eventual banning in the future the next few times he does it.

GOOD mods, keep an eye on him!

Amir0x was easily the most visual mod on GAF. So yeah, him being stripped of power for editing his post history to win an argument is kind of a big deal.

No, at least I never noticed him getting out of any argument by banning the opponent.

Agreed actually.
I was referring to those who specifically questioned him afterwards "The way you banned me that time was such bullshit" etc, before it turned out he hadn't banned them, it had been someone else.
