So... are you getting Resident Evil 7?

Yes.

But not right away, I have a backlog I'm working on.

Come on

90% yes, which is 10% less sure than any other RE since the first one for me, but well...
And no, 90% doesn't mean i feel like there is 90% chance i'll like it. That has to be earned.
We'll see...

I'm almost definitely getting it... just trying to decide if I should take the plunge and get VR. I've kind of been waiting for them to announce a launch bundle. IMO this has the potential to be PSVR's killer app and it's kind of crazy they're not pushing that more with the marketing.

Waiting for reviews. First time I've said that about a game in a while.

Need to know how much of the game I'm going to spend hiding from a big bad. If it's a big part of the game, I'm probably out.

I'm a big fan of the franchise and it's adopting a play-style I'm really in to (Outlast, SOMA etc.) but I've heard there is a ton of jump scares which is just cheap in my opinion and I don't like the idea of being constantly chased - bores me a little and doesn't let me explore.

I'll wait for in-depth reviews.

Yes, the game is probably too scary for me but I can't help but support the game. The demo played great and I love all the previews I've read about the game.

No.

Everything I've seen and played is completely awful. Definitely not the path I want my favorite franchise to follow.

Will buy two copies of RE2 Remake though (if it's in the classic style like REmake of course)

I played the demo for between 50 and 100 hours before it was updated at all. I cannot wait for the game!

Eventually. Got a bunch of stuff to play and finish in the meantime. I am one of the few people that will play Yakuza 0 before this.

Yes. Best Buy had the 25% off coupon going and I snagged it alongside ME:A. (And on top of the GCU discount) Capcom deserves support for trying something new.

Yes day one. One of my favorite franchises of all time. I'm normally too scared to play first person horror games, but I'm making an exception for this.

You can fight back in this RE7 so not really similar.

Yeah I am. Pre-ordering it here also comes with a copy of RE4 which is nice too, since I have never played that one before.

Not in the slightest. I want classic Resident Evil. This series really messed things up whilst evolving into the clusterfuck it is today.

The combination of living alone, being a chicken and already wanting Gravity Rush 2 and Yakuza 0 mean that this will have to wait a little while.

I hope it's good though. And I hope there's plenty of action. I do really want to play it, but I just know I'll never touch it in my current situation.

But it's got nothing to do with Outlast. Game has tons of combat (with multiple enemy types), with tons of weapons (multiple pistols, multiple shotguns, magnum, grenade launcher, flamethrower, etc). It's got character upgrades via money ala RE4. It's got boss fights. You don't even have to hide. You can shoot the Bakers down if you want to. Plus they only patrol certain sections of their house. They aren't always there.

The press has played 5 hours of the game. You say you'll wait for indepth reviews, and yet you skipped all the incredibly glowing previews the game has been getting? They told us all about how the game works and feels. I mean Gamespot said it's literally REmake except in first person.

Right
In fact, based on my time with it, Resident Evil VII so closely adheres to the tenets of the franchise's early entries that I can best describe it as the original Resident Evil set in first-person.

The demo scared me same way as outlast and PT. Can't even imagine playing in PSVR. But loved the demo and looks gorgeous on the ps4 Pro.

30€ from CDKeys, couldn't say no honestly

Even if VR ain't gonna be there at launch but fuck it

But i'm honestly not really hyped about it, REmake 2 is where it's at

Got it pre-ordered on PSN.
The demo has been great quality and eerie though purposefully obtuse to give it longevity and to drive community interaction prior to the release of the main game.
Hoping the game to be in the tradition of Resident Evil 1 gameplay wise but with the new perspective and theme. I have a feeling this will turn out very good but I have actually not read up much on it and I'm going to let it surprise me.

The Kitchen PSVR demo nearly killed me so I won't be playing this in VR!

Will be getting it day 1, will be playing it in VR and WILL be shatting me pants.

^ like he said, but mine's pre-ordered. counting the days: 16 to go

a youtube i saw said "the banned footage DLC first on playstation", i'm curious about how many videotapes there will be in the game. i love this idea, that you find videotapes that let you play levels from other people' perspective, and get different angles on the story.

This post doesn't make sense considering what games like outlast and soma are and RE has always had Jump scares.

I've played them all and with it being my favorite franchise, I gotta buy it. Still on the fence to see if I'll like it though.

42€ for the retail PC version from amazon.de seemed fair. I also really liked the demo on PS4 and PC.
Cheaper day one retail editions and demos are 2 trends I want to support with my money.

Yes I'm getting it on PS4 but I also got Umbrella Corps day one so clearly I'm a sucker for just about anything related to Resident Evil.

I'll give it a gamefly rental and will start with PSVR but the second I start getting simptoms of a heart attack and cold sweat, I'm just going to play the rest on the Pro with the lights on.
