So... are you getting Resident Evil 7?

Again, if we're going off the previews, there was supposedly only a single encounter with the Molded (an enemy type which CAN be killed) in five hours of play, with the rest of that time spent with the Baker's. I really hope we'll start to encounter more enemy types that we can fight and defeat as the game goes on, and that it really will play like classic RE in first-person. That would be ideal RE7, but I'm doubtful of that going off what we know so far.

I remember reading in the same previews that there was ALOT of gameplay, etc that they were not allowed to discuss. I find it hard to believe that this game would be getting rave reviews from so many people if it were as dull and boring as some people on here are making it out to be. Also, from what I read in the leak, it appears the Bakers BIG SPOILER AHEAD
mutate into various monstrosities throughout the game
.

The original RE really didn't have a great variety of enemies, either: zombies (including crimson heads), hunters, chimeras, cerberus, and a few spiders, bees, snakes here and there. We've seen one enemy in RE7 and while other various forms were mentioned in the leak, I'd bet there are many more that we don't know about. Have faith.

Edit: And to answer the original question: YES, already preordered. I just wish Capcom would release it early!!!

Going to preorder the game soon, once my relative (who is staying in my room with my TV/PS4 while I sleep on a mattress on the floor in the other bedroom) leaves in about a week after being here since early December... Very much looking forward to it.

I'm not entirely sure I'll pick it up at launch. I want to read reviews first and some spoilers because so far the game seems dull. If there's way more Resident Evil-ness to it than what we've seen thus far (pre-release material and leaks) then I may jump in.

That incomplete RE1 list you have there is already more impressive to me then what we know of RE7 at the moment. The leak had a lot of info in it, story beats complete with locations up to the end and what looked like every interactable item and weapon in the game yet for some reason it only includes the Bakers,
the three versions of molded and the Baker transformations
as enemies? I don't know.

We'll see. I'm doubtful though. That's why I'm standing by for in depth impressions of the full game.

Crows. I forgot crows. But aside from the main boss fights sprinkled throughout the game, this is a fairly comprehensive list of recurring enemies (see the Wiki).

The leak contained what appears to be a lot of information - but there was a lot of stuff that was deliberately left out and much that was incomplete.

Don't have VR. Not buying on day one. Main reason is too many other releases in Jan/early Feb. I'm getting Gravity Rush 2, Nioh and Yakuza 0.

There were a number of weapons that were even mentioned openly in the previews missing from the weapon list. There was a ton absent from the data mine, thoguh as far as enemy types go I have little knowledge of.

As for me, I'll pick it up Day 1. I have some reservations, as since CV the narratives and lore have mostly been a disappointment (REmake the exception). It's also a big unknown on how this will fit into the other REs and move the series forward. However, everything that's come out of the actual game has been very promising.

Yep, preordered it for PC.

First Resident Evil in a decade that looks interesting, first one I'm buying at launch since 4.

Nope. If someone offered me the game for free I wouldn't take it. Looking forward to REmake 2 tho and another action horror entry in the future (which will happen, RE5 and 6 are Capcom's two best selling games of all time, they're not gonna abandon that) so I'm not too heartbroken anymore about skipping a mainline entry with 7.

Do you mind listing one or two with spoiler tags? Do you remember which previews you saw these mentioned?

will have too ive played and beaten all the mainline REs and even both revelations my favs are 1 2 and code veronica

played the demo on ps4 pro and im not really felling it but it is a step in the right direction compared to 5 and 6

i like the umbrella focus from the early games with the underground labs, zombies ect. but not much is known about re7 after your encounter with the bakers so who knows what we will encounter later on in the games story

will get it a few weeks after release once all the guides come out im a completionist and like to get the trophies so i dont want to be doing unnecessary playthroughs

I don't know, the demo did not give the best impression. It's trying so hard to be every indie horror game on the planet while also trying ultra hard to be P.T. and Silent Hill.

Maybe when it's 75% off or something.

I honestly have no clue how this makes sense. In this thought, any game made for rebox?

Single player game, probably not too long of a story (guessing 8-12 hours). Can beat it in a weekend and return it for $4. Multiplayer games or games with replay value (Heavy rain, Until Dawn, GTA, 2k, etc...) are games I buy.

Eh. I dunno. It looks and plays way different from the past RE games. I'll wait on the reception.

I, too, liked the cheesy B-movie evil company making monsters story.

Played the PC demo and I'm interested in the new direction they're taking it. Should I wait for reviews? Maybe, but at least it's running well on PC and it won't be something I will refund based on performance.

More power to the lot of you waiting for impressions and reviews, but there is so much that we don't know about this game. I wouldn't even feel right being spoiled on this title, especially with so much in the air about what/who/where/why/how.

I want that experience.

There's only so much you can do with that premise, it's worn out it's welcome in my eyes.

Did you not see "Neo-Umbrella" delivering massive B.O.W's by helicopter directly into frontline combat zones en masse in RE6 like they are friggin' tanks?!? There's no coming back from that my friend lol, the concept has been completely driven into the ground.

I don't disagree with your thoughts on what 6 did. It was already stale in 5.

Yep. I knew SO much of RE5 and 6 from the trailers and launch trailers. This game we barely know anything. And it's only 16 days away. Going in blind and it's gonna be awesome. Most anticipated game in a long time.

I'm legit excited after the glowing previews, so I'll be there Day 1. Already preordered.

But I really really really really really really want a character-based TPS again soon.

Nope, it's the first mainline RE I'm not even remotely interested in.

Off the top of my head, the
grenade launcher
and a few of the known
throwable grenades
were missing. Can't remember if
mines
were in the list or not. The various craftable ammo and
poisons (aside from one which may be a key item)
were also absent.

Most of these had been mentioned in the various previews based on the 4-5 hour press preview covering Ch.3.

Not buying what will probably be a 10 hours game top.

Reports suggest a 14-16 hour first playthrough, which is on par with RE4. Like most RE games, it could probably be ran through in less than 5 hours on additional playthroughs.

Game seems absolutely incredible. Whole lotta people sleeping on a GOTY contender.

Review thread's gonna be a lot of fun.

Nah, I downloaded the demo but haven't played it. I'm in no rush/have no interest in it honestly. I liked 4 back in the day, 5 was ok, and I skipped 6.
