So Chipotle is pretty damn good...

You left flour out of your statement.

When talking about Chipotle, very seldom are people talking about the corn torillas. Chipotle doesn't even do corn burrito tortillas, only soft taco. And nowhere did you mention corn tortillas either.

It's cool man, you don't dig Chipotle. But come on.

Funny thing I noticed when worked at amazon, Indian people LOVE chipotle. Anyone else have this experience?

Most of my coworkers at amazon were from India, and they love chipotle. They always want to go, when their families visit them, they go eat there, and everyone talks about how it is the best thing ever. Sort of blew my mind.

Yes. Cuisine share several big staples. It also is vegetarian friendly for Hindus.

I wish I could! Really, when left to my own devices I subconsciously create the most boring burrito imaginable. I don't realize it until I sit down and eat it.

I'm the same way with self serve froyo, the multitude of options drives me nuts and I end up with something shitty.

When the lady at Chipotle tells me the guacamole is extra...

I've noticed the same thing here. I think part of is a lot of folks in India are vegetarian (over 30%) and you can get a really good vegetarian meal there.

We have a taco salad day at the cafeteria at work weekly and it's packed as well.

Man, this thread depresses me. I love me some Chipotle, but every since I moved out of California I haven't had any at all. And there isn't a Chipotle in Natchez...

I need a good Barbacoa recipe. Anyone able to recommend one?

I wonder what the cross section is for people who love Chipotle, and people who favor missionary.

I bet y'all flip out when Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back in season too.

I literally can not tell the difference between Chipotle, Qdoba and Panchero's.

I know now the one by my school is a Panchero's and I think the one by my house is either a Chipotle or Qdoba.

First world problems. I love me some big veggie (or chicken) burritos though.

I don't get it either. It and Moe's taste average at best. It's healthy for fast food at least.

Moe's is super gross. Qdoba is pretty boring. Haven't had Boloco often enough to judge. Of the major burrito chains, Chipotle is king. Also, the fact that you can usually get a ~$7 burrito in most airports is a plus while traveling.

I'm a fat ass and I do love me some chipotle. Gimme the pork (or Barbacoa whatever it is), I want them black beans!! Hell yeah I want hot salsa, hell yeah I want sour cream, hell yeah I want cheese, and gimme some guacamole.

Between Breaking Bad and these burrito threads, I am so hungry. Damn you Gaf.

are the people complaining about authenticity even Mexican or hispanic? I'm mexican, grew up in texas, went to college in SoCal, have eaten plenty of 'authentic' mexican food growing up at home and at local restaurants and taco trucks and I still love chipotle. all my hispanic friends from HS love chipotle. And I used chipotle to bulk and to cut by controlling how many calories w/ sour cream, double meat, and cheese. And people afraid of salt RIP ever enjoying food...

If you have a Curritos in the area, go there. For the same price you get a bigger, (and IMO better tasting) burrito. Other wise, Chipolet isn't bad at all, the barboqua burrito is my favorite.

Check their stock price. Seriously. They are doing something right.

I live in so cal and eat there about twice a month. Very tasty.

And I also eat at local taco shops. Very tasty but less healthy.

Room for both.

Pretty sure they're only located in London so far in the UK?

They need to expand quickly, nowhere around here where I can get a good burrito.

(That won't give me the shits anyway)

Yeah. I went once with a friend of mine, and I wasn't impressed. If you're in San Jose, just go to your local Super Taqueria. The one nearby SJSU is cool.

lol, nah man. I respect your opinion though.

Huh I was expecting the usual "La Vics and there orange sauce is amazing" post

People speak of authentic as if it's synonymous with quality.

Plenty of Mexican restaurants and taquerias are authentic and awful.

Amen.

It makes my blood boils everything that Chipotle represents. Specially their customers. I always think of the posters here in the forum who love Chipotle as people that do not like to try new things, doesn't travel, likes McDonalds, and never eat at local places.

Okay cool it. If your blood is boiling over something so stupid then I legitimately feel sorry for you. I've been all over SoCal, to Texas, and to Mexico too. You know what? Whenever I can I visit Chipotle.

I get authentic Mexican food at home every day too. You know what though? I still eat at Chipotle.

These two

Never heard of either. I enjoy trying new 'fast' burrito places. But so far Qdoba wasn't very good (other people must have thought the same because they have closed), when I went to Hot Head the inside of my burrito was refrigerator cold (I tweeted at them and they sent me a card for 3 free burritos that I still have sitting on my desk), and Moe's was pretty decent but their closest location to me is around 7 miles away so I haven't been back.

I guess the two you quoted are located strictly in nola?

Lol what???
Is carnitas that much more expensive than chicken?

Steak and Barbacoa are the most expensive. We have like a 10% tax on prepared meals here so that adds to the price.

But they don't have a single burrito that costs under 7 after tax in Seattle, WA.

I was slightly off about the Carnitas; after tax a little over 8.. it's the steak that will get you closer to 9, but more like 8.50.

Adding guac makes it $10 after tax or more.
