So did anyone encounter the lantern bug in Bloodborne?

Nah, I loved that area and loved to just look at views there and never noticed it(played the game yesterday and the statues was very noticeable no way I have missed it or did I?)

I also just watched one of ENB's old videos visiting that area and the statues wasn't there and no way he wouldn't point it out if it was there and that noticeable.

Hmm, it seems that it was added with the DLC, at least I can't find any mention of it anywhere from before it came out. Must have mixed it up with the floating door in Dark Souls.

One time, after a round of co op and helping someone kill her, I spawned into the Wet Nurse's boss chamber. I hadn't beaten her yet. Her life bar didn't appear. The fog door wasn't up. No boss music. But she was there. So I started wailing on her to see what happened, and after a few minutes... NIGHTMARE SLAIN

I'm glad it didn't happen the first time I fought that fight because I would've felt really guilty about it.

I was waiting to be summoned and decided last second to run back to the LFs plaza, stairwell, then back. I think it got confused which boss it was pulling me for so I started alone with the fog wall up and a nonaggressive LF. Unfortunately I could only kill one before the summoner joined and spawning started.

Happens to the best of us OP. I couldn't re-find the DLC for the life of me.

I'm just disappointed this thread isn't about a secret insectoid boss

If the OP had simply posted in the BB threads I would have just chucked, but making an entire new thread for "the lantern bug"? Entirely tagworthy.

But I did, like last week.

Is it normal that I can't respawn or go back to the first lantern in The Forbidden Woods from the Hunter's dream?

That must've hurt.

I'm easily frustrated but I really like the game so I end up quitting and coming back every couple of hours lol.

It's really really good and engrossing, I'm not typically someone who goes out of his way to do everything in a game but in Bloodborne I always want to go in every direction possible in the hopes to find a optional area.

Edit: Ok more like 2 weeks ago lol.

I had a glitch where I was summoned to help someone fight Rom and three life bars came up for the Shadow of Yarnham. Quite weird.

Did anybody see a statue floating in the sky @ Old Yharnam after the DLC got released?
Yes, along with many other glitches there. Lit flames hovering a foot away from their candles, enemies in lower rooms rising through the ceiling... I took many screenshots as proof.

To be fair, I've encountered a few troubles with Lanterns!!

Usually the problem I have is after ringing a Beckoning Bell, if I'm have connection troubles I've had a few troubles where the Lanterns don't show a 'return to Hunter's Dream' message, eventually causing me to need to exit and reload the game.

Doesn't happen that often, but enough to make me think there's an actual known glitch! :-(

HAHAH I walked away from this game for a few months and when I came back, I had totally forgotten about which headstone warped to where.

HOWEVER

I did encounter a legit lantern bug this weekend where I had summoned the cathedral ward NPC that helps you with
Vicar Amelia
and I went down to some fog gate past some NPC enemies that I couldn't enter (no on screen prompt to walk through it) so I ran back to the main catherdal lamp to warp back to hunters dream to cash in my souls and I again found no activation prompt on screen to use the lantern.

Interestingly enough, there was also a fog gate blocking the route back to Gascoigne's area as well so it seems like the game sort of glitched up in a way that it was thinking the whole cathedral ward was a boss fight arena or something.

I exited out of the game and opened it back up and it was back to normal.

Another weird glitch I got yesterday was in the first chalice dungeon. I had summoned some NPC and when we opened the door to the watch dog boss fight, I was stuck and couldn't move forward into the arena as if the NPC was blocking my way in. The NPC guy was running opposite direction like he was trying to run back through the fog gate away from the arena.

Watch dog rammed him through the fog gate out of the fight and I popped out into the arena for the fight. Looking through the fog gate, NPC brah is just standing there on the other side looking at me like (O__O)

Um
It's not a glitch. When you summon an NPC, the game behaves the same way as you summon another player online, and prevents you from leaving the "summon" area, which is why you had fog gates blocking you such as when you tried to return to Oedon Chapel, and which is also why the lamp wouldn't work. If you had used the silencing blank to dismiss the NPC, the lamp would have worked again and the fog gates would have disappeared.

The exact same thing happens in all the Souls games whenever you summon (whether it's a player or an NPC).

The chalice dungeon thing does sound like a glitch however, can't really explain it.
