So did Chrome suddenly start to suck?

Oh wow. Waterfox is nice.

Not sure if it will totally replace chrome yet, despite it's HUGE flaws, but I'll definitely hang on to it as a second browser.

EDIT: BLARRG. Even though I didn't install the AVG addon, Waterfox somehow added AVG to chrome =/

Running 264 tabs in Waterfox right now and it's smooth as butter, much better than regular Friefox. I'm in love.

All I know is chrome for Andriod is ass. Every so often I try to load a page and the screen just stays blank. I have close every tab I have and open a new one to see anything.

Yup. Switched to Firefox and it has improved drastically in that past few months. It works great, far better than Chrome.

I love how many of us assumed the image tearing was a new meme. Are we all so on the cusp of oldness that we're willing to go along with whatever the new thing is the kids are doing these days even though we don't understand it? "I guess this is the new thing, like, post-modern image corruption. It's like a visual representation of a record scratch, man."

I hope someone somewhere thought this was the new meme and actually made a static torn version of an animated gif. I hope someone out there was my hero.

Can someone record an instance of these weird GIFs? I'd like to see what you're talking about. :p

Chrome has been rubbish with gifs for a while for me, moved back to Firefox a few weeks ago and it had no issues with gifs but seemed a bit sluggish in general. Installed Waterfox last night after reading this thread and it's awesome \o/ thanks to whoever mentioned it!

I've been having the gif issue off and on but for the most part it's okay.

Not related to Chrome but more of Drive... I'm getting stretches of where my docs are failing to load repeatedly before it settles down. Either myself or my collaborator experience problems so we end up losing comments to one another and are barely able to edit. It's driving me crazy at this point.

Firefox 16 has been released today. I recommend everyone give it a whirl. One of the big changes in this version:

Incremental Garbage Collection

"Rather than do a 500 millisecond garbage collection, an incremental collector might divide the work into fifty slices, each taking 10ms to complete. In between the slices, Firefox is free to respond to mouse clicks and draw animations."

Supposedly, this was being worked on for over a year and has finally been rolled out in v16.

I've been using Firefox 16 and Safari 6.0.1 today (on Mountain Lion). Along with the latest Chrome. I had been using Chrome exclusively, but I'm done with them for a while. Safari is blazing fast, as is Firefox. However, Safari gets the edge for now. I'll probably re-evaulate in a few months.

Have google searches been slow for any Chrome users? Every other site loads quickly for me, but when i do a search in the taskbar it spends a good 30 seconds loading google.

Also got the common issues such as gifs freezing and flash acting up occasionally. May go back to Firefox if this keeps up.

Been getting pissed with this problem lately.

And WOW Waterfox is fast as hell (on Win7 64-bit). So nice.

I've never had problems with Chrome, except for a few times of Flash crashing on Youtube... *knocks on wood*

Gonna try this Waterfox thingy... Love finding awesome things through GAF.

I just installed Waterfox, and I am liking it so far. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a Neogaf extension for it, like the one for Chrome that shows your posts and where people quoted you. That just made life so much easier. Oh well.

Install Greasemonkey and Install NeoGAF User Highlighter for Greasemonkey.

You'll need to edit the script to add your usernamer and preferred color.

I thought I was the only person having trouble with Chrome. I was having trouble reaching gaf and basically all the other sites I like to visit, but I'm having no trouble with Firefox.

Ugh, Chrome used to be my favorite browser, but Firefox is working pretty well.

Yep, FF16 is incredible. Supposedly FF18 is going to be just as fast as Chrome v21.

I love Chrome, but something that's just started recently is that some of my tabs will pull into their own window as if I had dragged them that way myself. I've used Chrome nearly since it's release and the pull tab to create a new window feature is one of my favorites, however this is now occurring frequently even when I'm not pulling the tab. I restarted my PC last week when I first noticed it and the problem seemed to be fixed. Today it's doing it again. And no, I'm not accidentally pulling the tabs myself.

It's really annoying.

Heh, seems to be a common issue lately

And it just did it again when I re-clicked onto this GAF tab. Pain in the ass :(

Chrome on my PC doesn't run gifts properly. Now after iOS 6 it runs like utter crap on my iPad (slow downs when I'm typing in a URL, slow loading etc.) I also get this strange capitalization problem on my galaxy s3. I don't know what's going on but it seems to suck across all platforms:(

I've had this happen for a few weeks now.

Man, Chrome (stable) has been botching GIF's & The Verge for the last two updates.

Most of the time GIFs don't play, and every once in a while I see a transparency checkered patten.. where they are supposed to be.

Couple of days now with WaterFox. It's good. I feel like Chrome is a little faster and smoother opening most pages, but this really blows it away with picture heavy pages, gifs and other flash stuff. I'd probably switch back to Chrome if they fix that shit.

Shockwave crashing, freezing and also crashing. i have a ton of tabs opened so maybe that's the issue but that still sucks.

Alright, yeah definitely switching over to Waterfox.

My school's website is finicky with flash and I was having all sorts of weird issues streaming my mentor's cam feed with chrome. Tried it out in waterfox and bam, ran smooth as butter.

Really miss the way the options were laid out in chrome though. Absolutely perfect for me.

i deleted chrome and all of the separate files (in application support) except for the bookmarks, and reinstalled it.

it's working perfectly again, and it's good to not have ancient history show up in the address bar anymore.

Do I really need to uninstall Chrome and clean it just to get the browser working properly again? I still have issues with animated gifs working.

EDIT - Disabled the flash again. I don't know if it updated and re-enabled but this is getting old.
