So ehh...what game has a better chance of actually releasing?

Half-Life 3 (Episode 3)
Black Mesa Source
Shenmue 3
Beyond Good & Evil 2
Psychonauts 2
Mega Man Legends 3
B.C. (lol)
FF VS XIII
Agent

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think?

Half-Life 3. Q4 2012, with a possible delay into 2013.

Half-Life 3 is the only one of those I have any confidence will come out eventually. How many more years that's going to be is the real question.

Half-Life 3 is a no brainer.
There's no doubt it will sell a shitload.
It's all about *when* Valve will go for it, it isn't an "IF".

VS XIII and Half Life will happen eventually even if it takes awhile. I am pretty skeptical of any of the rest of those ever coming out.

Clearly HL3, Valve is just running on Valve time. The game will sell millions, hopefully the multiplayer is good and not a bullet sponge fest like HL1 and 2s multiplayer.

Black Mesa Source

I still believe! They actually work on that, so it will be released on day.

Please. If we rank HL 3 as the one sure thing, this vies with B.C. as the most unlikely. Tells you how much I think of Black Mesa. I think a cancelled project probably has a greater chance of releasing than it.

Half-Life 3/Episode 3 in *some* form. Development might be taking an eon, but it's not actually plagued by *problems* like many of the others.

Add Mirror's Edge 2 and The Last Guardian to the list. =(

I'm actually not sure if Half-life 3 will ever come out, or if Valve enjoys TF2 hat money and jokes about the pyro's gender too much and is sick of Half-life. Although, I was just thinking that it seems kind of weird that Valve has a fair number of employees (50-100?), and surely they haven't all been working on TF2 content and Portal 2 post-release content? And it's been a year since Portal 2, and Valve practically never fires anyone, so I wonder what they have been doing for that year.

If I had to pick one of those games I would say Beyond Good and Evil 2 even though that seems unlikely.

I see you're accepted that The Last Guardian and Mirror's Edge 2 will never come out. Good.
(lol)

Out of those, I'd go with Versus. It's had significantly larger reveals then any of those other games already, and is holding up Kingdom Hearts III. And with the game that leads up to KHIII already released in Japan, they really need to get development started as soon as possible. Versus should absolutely be released next year. Whether or not that actually happens though, depends on how much common sense is left at SE.

What is B.C. in the OP?

VSXIII will come out I hope, as it's the only one there I'm interested in. I liked the HL series enough, but can't say I liked them enough to care about them for so many years. Maybe it's being away from PC gaming.

HL3 will see the light of day, there's just no reason for it not too.

Agent probably will.. the rest.. nope.

260+ as of 2011. CS:GO has a small team from Valve overseeing and assisting HPE with the project, and there's been a recent "content creation push" with Dota 2; but even if we assume more DLC is being worked on across the board, and factor in those working on Steam, that still leaves at least 100 or so employees unaccounted for (likely more, since the DLC teams are tiny). My guess is:

- Half-Life 3
- F-STOP
- Doug Church's game
- Maybe another project currently in its infancy (Edit: Oh, yeah. SteamBox!)

HL3 and VS13 will be released, Psychonauts 2 will probably see the light of day if Schafer wants to kickstart it after the success he had with his point and click game.
